Michael Anthony Life

Michael Anthony Sobolewski (born June 20, 1954) is an American musician who is currently the bassist and backing vocalist for the rock band Chickenfoot and the Circle.

Anthony was previously the bassist and background vocalist for Van Halen from 1974 to 2006. Anthony has a special Schecter Guitar Research bass-guitar set and owns over 150 bass guitars.

Anthony is also known as Mad Anthony, a line of hot sauces and related products based on his musical career with Van Halen and other artists.

Early years

Anthony inherited his passion for music from his father, who played trumpet. Anthony began by playing trumpet.

Anthony was partially raised in Chicago. In Anthony's early years, the family migrated to California twice, settling in 1966 in Arcadia, California, where Alex and Edward Van Halen, who were in the band Van Halen, were born. Anthony attended Dana Junior High School in Arcadia, California, from 1967 to 1969. Anthony was in the marching band at the university. He played for junior high and showed promise in baseball as a catcher, but by the time he started high school, he had stopped doing athletics and concentrated on music.

Anthony graduated from Arcadia High in 1972.

Personal life

Both Anthony and Sue Hendry attended Arcadia High School. In 1981, the couple married. They have two children, Elisha (born 1985) and Taylor (born 1992). Anthony and his family live in Newport Beach, California. He can be seen on televised car shows, often being questioned about his passion and love for classic motorcycles and cars.

Anthony largely stuck on the sidelines of the rockstar "party hard" lifestyle, though he was occasionally seen and photographed with a cigarette and a Jack Daniels (whiskey logo) bass guitar.

Michael Anthony Career

Music career

Anthony took an interest in guitar as a youth but decided against playing the bass because the majority of his other acquaintances already played guitar or drums. Anthony's buddy Mike Hershey gave him a Fender Mustang electric guitar that Anthony converted by cutting the two top strings and playing it as a bass guitar. His father bought him a Fender Precision Bass and a Gibson amplifier, which eventually became a thing. Anthony continued to model his bass after Jack Bruce of Cream, but Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones and Harvey Brooks of Electric Flag also admired Electric Flag's John Paul Jones and Harvey Brooks. Poverty's Children was his first band. Black Opal, Balls, and Snake were among the other bands he performed in. Although Anthony is naturally left-handed, he plays right-handed.

Anthony's snake, a three-piece band featuring Anthony on lead vocals and bass guitar, was Anthony's last band in which Anthony appeared before joining Van Halen. Snake performed covers of ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Foghat, as well as some original songs. They performed many of the same gigs as did Van Halen brothers' band Mammoth. During a show at Pasadena High School, a snake was first seen for Mammoth. The PA of Mammoth was ineffective that night, so Anthony borrowed Snake's PA from them.

Anthony Van Halen, who also took classes at Pasadena City College, was interested in music. Mark Stone, a bass player, departed Mammoth and the Van Halens auditioned Anthony as a replacement during this period. Even though he'd never seen the brothers play before, Anthony was impressed by their ability during subsequent jam sessions. The Van Halen brothers begged Anthony to join their band after the session. According to one story, he first recommended Snake guitarist Tony Caggiano, who advised Anthony to join the guitar prodigy and his brother. However, Anthony's web site said he accepted right away. This has been the accepted version of events.

After graduating from Pasadena City College, Anthony had intended to attend college in Santa Barbara, but instead he dropped out of PCC just before he had earned enough credits for a degree so he could devote all his time to Van Halen.

Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, and Anthony were among those named Van Halen when they discovered another local band using the word Mammoth in 1974. Van Halen was signed to Warner Bros. in 1977 after successfully navigating the Los Angeles & West Hollywood club scene and a 19 track demo produced by Kiss's Gene Simmons, and then released their self-titled debut album on February 10, 1978. Anthony was a 20% member (manager Noel Monk being the 5th) of all debts and profits, including jewelry, until midway through the 1984 tour, when tensions increased to the point that Roth and the Van Halen brothers threatened to have all future songwriting credit and royalties written retroactive with the new 1984 LP. "I would have told them to 'fuck off' and not attend the game, not to mention my value," Noel Monk later reported of the evening. Rather than saying a word and signing away millions of dollars as the three men raged over him lying on the floor, Mike didn't say a word and swung around millions of dollars."

During Anthony's time with the band, the band released a total of eleven studio albums from 1978 to 1998, including a live album in 1993, as well as two of the band's best hits compilations.

Anthony Leigh's brother (Robert Lee Sobolewski) was a member of Asylum Suite, a 1988 performance by the brothers (Robert Lee Sobolewski) and Asylum Suite, which was founded in 1984 and starred singer Michael Thomas Fiore.

Anthony had been fired from Van Halen as early as 1996, despite evidence to the contrary. Anthony continued to work with the band, but the rumors raged until his eventual departure following Hagar's 2004 reunion tour.

Anthony's involvement in the recording of Van Halen III was considerably less than previous albums. Anthony performed bass on three songs, with Eddie assisting on the rest of the bass parts. Anthony is listed as a songwriter for the album as well as the rest of the band. Anthony appeared with the band on the 1998 tour and was credited with subsequent messages from the band. He appeared in the band's three reunion attempts with David Lee Roth in 1996, 2000, and 2001 (with the latter resulting in early versions of A Different Kind of Truth). During this period, Anthony's name was also mentioned in a few band newsletters and appeared in band interviews. Anthony disappeared from public view some time after the 2004 reunion.

During Anthony's solo tours, he made periodic appearances with Sammy Hagar. He appeared in both the Waboritas and Los Tres Gusanos, two of Hagar's bands. Both Anthony and ex-Van Halen vocalist Gary Cherone appeared at concerts, often together, during the 2002 Roth/Hagar tour (otherwise known as the "Sans Halen" or "Sam and Dave" tour.

Anthony, Hagar, Neal Schon, Deen Castronovo, and Joe Satriani formed the supergroup Planet Us and Anthony in 2002, when Hagar, Hagar, Neal Schon, Deen Castronovo, Deen Castronovo, and Joe Satriani joined Hagar to perform more often at Hagar concerts. Planet Us released two songs, one of which was supposed for the original Spider-Man soundtrack, but eventually did not make the album. On the 2008 Hagar solo album Cosmic Universal Fashion, the band's other Planet Us song, "Peephole," was released.

When Eddie and Alex begged Hagar to return to Hagar for a 2004 tour, they were told not to invite Anthony back. Hagar, on the other hand, refused to perform if Anthony did not return, and Anthony decided not to play but under a reduced royalties deal. The contract was only for the duration of the tour.

Van Halen's compilation album The Best of Both Worlds, which featured three new songs, was released in 2004. Anthony did not participate in the writing of the new songs nor did he play bass on the new songs, and he was not credited on the album for the new work, though he did perform backup vocals on all of them.

Anthony now claims in media interviews that he hasn't seen the Van Halen brothers since the 2004 tour, except for Alex at the funeral of Van Halen drum tech Greg Emerson. He has also speculated that since the brothers were not content with Hagar's commercial ventures, such as the Cabo Wabo product line, their dissatisfaction with Anthony's hot sauce brand may have caused the split that ultimately separated Hagar and Anthony from the band.

During a section of the Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas tour, Anthony spent the summer of 2006 touring as a member of the Other Half. Anthony and Hagar performed classic Van Halen songs from both the Roth and Hagar periods on the Other Half.

Eddie Van Halen revealed on September 8, 2006, that his son Wolfgang was replacing Anthony as Van Halen's bass player. Van Halen announced on February 2, 2007 that they were reuniting for a tour with original vocalist David Lee Roth. On September 27, 2007, they began touring on September 27, 2007. Anthony wrote that he learned about his replacement "on the Internet" and added, "I'm a little miffed that they're calling it a Van Halen reunion." If I was dead and they wanted someone to play, that's one thing, but this isn't a reunion to me. "This is not a reunion; this is a revision," David Lee Roth said at the tour press conference.

On February 25, 2007, Anthony joined Hagar on live television during a pre-race appearance for the California NASCAR series on Fox television. During a performance of "I Can't Drive 55," Anthony hopped onstage and joined Hagar.

Anthony and Hagar were the only two members, current or former, to attend Van Halen's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 12, 2007. Eddie Van Halen was in rehab at the time, but Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth did not appear.

Anthony is a founding member, bassist, and backing vocalist for the band Chickenfoot, as well as Sammy Hagar, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Joe Satriani. On June 5, 2009, the band unveiled their first studio album in Europe, followed by the North American release on June 9. On September 27, 2011, Chickenfoot III, the company's second attempt, was announced.

Anthony is a member of Sammy Hagar and the Circle, a supergroup that formed in 2014 and includes Hagar, guitarist Vic Johnson, and drummer Jason Bonham.

Katy Perry Embraces Barbiecore in Matching Latex Dress and Puffer Jacket

www.popsugar.co.uk, November 22, 2022
Barbiecore's Katy Perry was created for Barbiecore. At the True Colours Festival in Tokyo on Sunday, Perry's coordinating neon separators hail from a Parisian latex atelier named Avellano. Although the brand specializes in custom made products, her look was ready to wear right after debuting on the spring 2023 runways. Perry's floor-length neon gown was tight around the top and became gradually looser towards the bottom. While Perry's silhouette complemented her form, the puffer coat added a layer of whimsy, volume, and, of course, warmth. The outerwear came with silver buttons down the front, as well as a few long, stud studs that can be opened and closed to inflate or deflate the jacket.
