Melody Thomas Scott Career

Early life and acting career

Melody Ann Thomas was born in Los Angeles and named Scott. In 1964 Alfred Hitchcock's film Marnie, she appeared as a child actor. Since appearing in television and movies in the mid-1970s (most prominent in John Wayne's last film, The Shootist, in which she was the last actor to exchange lines with Wayne), she was given opportunities on nighttime series such as The Rockford Files, Charlie's Angels, and a recurring appearance on The Waltons.

On the daytime serial The Young and the Restless, she allowed Nikki Reed, a poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks, to play the part over a sitcom pilot who was not picked up. She was a replacement for the previous Nikki, who had been waiting for six months. As she married Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), her character reformed and became a central part of Genoa City life. "It's a miracle for an actor to have a 35-year career," Scott said. I am so blessed.

In June 1985, she was a celebrity celebrity on The $25,000 Pyramid for a week.

The Young and the Restless released a stand-alone episode on February 19, 2019 to celebrate Scott's 40-year involvement with the series.
