Mehdi Taremi (born 18 July 1992) is an Iranian footballer who plays as a forward for Rio Ave and the Iran national team. Taremi appeared for Persepolis between 2014 and 2018.
He has been the top scorer of the Persian Gulf Pro League on two occasions (2015–16 and 2016–17).
In 2015, Taremi earned his first cap for the Iran national team.

Taremi is the third and youngest child of his family. Mohammad's older brother is also a footballer.

Club career
Taremi began his studies at Bargh Bushehr's Academy before going to the Youth Academy in Iran Javan.
In the summer of 2010, he joined Shahin Bushehr. In all competitions, he appeared in 7 games and scored one goal. He was allowed by Shahin Bushehr to serve his conscription time in a military club in the winter of 2012, but he was unable to join a club and was forced to serve his conscription term in a common garrison.
He joined Iranjavan in the summer of 2013 and agreed to a two-year deal until the 2014–15 season, receiving the number 9. Taremi scored 12 times in 22 games in 2013–14, becoming the league's second top scorer after Mokhtar Jomehzadeh.
Taremi had interest from several clubs after becoming the Azadegan League's top scorer. In the summer of 2014, Persepolis FC signed a two-year contract until June 2016.
He made his debut in a 1–1 draw with Naft Tehran, coming as a substitute for Reza Norouzi in the 90th minute. In a 1–0 victory over Zob Ahan on August 15, he scored his first goal for the club.
