Megan LeeAnn Turney (born March 12, 1987) is an American internet celebrity, cosplayer, model, and vlogger.

She became a celebrity by hosting for SourceFed and Rooster Teeth's The Know.

She also has a personal YouTube channel where she posts weekly vlogs.

Turney also cosplays at several conventions, such as Comic-Con.

Personal life

Turney has openly discussed her bisexuality with her audience. She debating being bisexual in a YouTube video interview with VlogBrothers, and she talked about how she was mocked for her sexual orientation. Turney spoke during the convention's "Being LGBT on YouTube" panel.

She has been in a relationship with Gavin Free since 2013.

A man wielding a handgun burst into Turney's and Free's home on January 26, 2018, breaking a window and firing one round as he did. Turney and Free were found in a closet and called the police. If the man was unable to locate the couple, he left, but was confronted by police outside. As officers approached the suspect's car, they found him dead; the perpetrator fired one shot and returned fire; police returned fire. During the shooting, Turney and Free were unharmed physically. The perpetrator had a passion for Turney, and it was suspected he was trying to hurt Free, against whom he felt anger. Turney stopped posting her YouTube channel for nearly half a year following the tragedy, citing fears of her security in broadcasting her personal information to a large audience.

Online media career

Turney made her YouTube channel in November 2009 but then started posting vlogs in 2012. Turney produced event coverage for deviantART and appeared as a featured host on CraveOnline's TechKnow show during her early years of her online media career. Turney would break out as an online media host in July 2012, when she joined Steve Zaragoza in a joint appearance on SourceFed, in which the two spoke about Star Wars, Comic-Con, and cosplaying. Turney appeared alongside Elliott Morgan and Philip DeFranco in SourceFed's "Election Hub" later this year. Turney and her SourceFed co-hosts received an Audience Choice Streamy Award for Year of the Year in February 2013. Turney, in addition to being a co-host of the channel, was also a writer for the SourceFed website. Turney will continue as a host of the channel as well as its Nerd spinoff until April 2014, when she announced that she would not leave SourceFed.

Turney appeared in various television shows, including the AMA's On Demand and Nerdist News, during her time with SourceFed. In addition, Turney and Bobak Ferdowsi, Matt Mira, and Kevin Lieber discussed how Hollywood portrays life on Mars in August 2013.

Turney was confirmed as the new host for Rooster Teeth's news channel, The Know It, on May 30, 2014. Turney said, "They have been pioneers in the industry for many years, and their level of innovation and just plain fun in their writing is unmatched in the industry." Turney made her first appearance on The Know on June 1, 2014. Rooster Teeth produced the music video for "Did I Say That Loud?" in July 2014. Barenaked Ladies, in which Turney portrays Gavin Free's annoying girlfriend. Turney co-hosted The Know It All: Leaderboard, a joint venture between Rooster Teeth and The Daily Dot, which began in August 2014. Turney appeared in the animated film RWBY as Neon Katt, and he appeared on The Patch, Rooster Teeth's weekly gaming podcast. Turney left Rooster Teeth on good terms on June 27, 2016.

Turney was embroiled in a controversy in October 2014 when live streaming video web portal Twitch expanded its code of conduct, alerting viewers not to not shoot videos in "lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments." Turney was the first user suspended for breaching the latest code of conduct, according to several news outlets. Turney answered on Twitter, saying, "Dear everyone writing articles claiming I was barred from Twitch," Turney said, "I wasn't." I've never been banned. "When we're on the topic, we've never done any'sexy broadcasts'," I was told to change my photo. I've never even streamed from that account." Turney also stated that the court was not unfair to women, but that in general, it was unfair, mainly unfair, saying, "If someone has a big push-up bra and a low-cut shirt while playing [League of Legends] or a guy streames shirtless."

Turney premiered on Twitch in June 2016. Turney has continued to produce video game commentaries and streams, as well as cosplay-related vlogs on her personal YouTube channel, in the years since leaving SourceFed and Rooster Teeth.

Turney joined Abrams Artists in April 2019, becoming part of the game company. Turney moved from Abrams to TalentX Gaming, where she is now based in June 2020. In October, she competed in a Twitch Rivals-sponsored Dead by Daylight tournament.

She began creating boudoir articles on her OnlyFans website after releasing her book of topless photos on her personal website.
