Maxi López Life

Maximiliano "Maxi" Gastón López, born 3 April 1984, is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward.

He now plays for Crotone, Italy. López holds both an Argentina and an Italian passport.

El Rubio ("The Blonde") and La Gallina de Oro ("The Golden Hen") are two of his names.

Personal life

López was married to Argentine model Wanda Nara from 2008 to 2013. Valentino Gastón (born 25 January 2009), Constantino (born 19 December 2010) and Benedicto (born 20 February 2012). Nara and López resigned after her affair with López' former Sampdoria teammate, Mauro Icardi, who now works with Galatasaray, was revealed. When López first moved to Italy, he had been good friends with Icardi, inviting his countryman on vacations and opening his home to Icardi. In December 2013, she and López started divorce talks. Nara and Icardi were married on May 27, 2014. López in April 2014, during a match between Sampdoria and Inter, notably refused to shake Icardi's hand, prompting the press to debunk the game as "Wanda derby."

López is also a close friend of Lionel Messi, as López was signed by Barcelona when Messi was still establishing himself in the first squad. Messi and Maximo became close friends in Argentina at a young age, with López being a big brother to Messi during the latter's ascension to fame. Despite his good results for Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, it has long been believed that this friendship has prevented Icardi from playing international football.

López's change of fortune from being a little criticized forward at River Plate to being named by Barcelona made him an internet meme in his native Argentina. Satirical blogs had been established to campaign for his inclusion in the Argentina team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. With hyperbolic allegations that closely resembled Chuck Norris Facts, the Argentinaian knockout from the World Cup shifted to a series of reasons addressing his lack of time play on Barcelona. In interviews, López has said that he is "okay" in the midst of this unexpected sequel.

Club career

He was welcomed to the senior squad that same season following five years with the youth program. In an away game against Udinese on February 11, López scored his first goal as a Milan player, equalizing for Milan but then going on to assist Stephan El Shaarawy in scoring the game-winning goal. However, he returned to Catania at the end of the season after Milan chose not to use their purchase option.

After Catania's relegation, López signed a one-year contract with Chievo with the option to extend his contract for a year. On the first day of the 2014–15 Serie A season, he made his debut against Juventus on August 30th, defeating Juventus in the full 90 minutes. Chievo defeated Napoli 2-0 in his second match on September 14th. He scored the only goal in his second game.

López joined Torino on January 13th, 2015, with a promise for another year. In the second round of the Coppa Italia, he debuted against Lazio the next day. In a 3–2 Torino victory over Cesena on January 18, he scored his first goal for Torino against Cesena on January 18th. He scored a brace in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 against Athletic Bilbao on February 19th, thus achieving points in five national leagues (Argentine, Spanish, Russian, Brazilian, Brazilian, and Italian) as well as in all international competitions (Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Champions League, and Europa League). He scored again in Spain's triumphant return leg seven days later, and the 28th round of the league away at Parma.
