Max Magnus Norman Life

Cal Henrik Max Norman (born July 30, 1973) is a Swedish painter, illustrator, and sculptor. Norman was born in Sundsvall, Medelpad, and he now lives in Prague. * He paints visions and dreamlike images as accurately as possible, resulting in paintings with a photorealistic feel. His works are supposed to be distributed on social media platforms; his illustration and stunts often refer to everyday life; with a touch of the absurd. The illustrated essay "The LED (minor) Artcrime Tutorial" and the Moose graffiti installation, in which the artist sneaks up on a wild moose and paints graffiti on it, are two examples of such artworks produced for the internet. * His sculpture and plastic arts projects have earned some recognition in Sweden, such as his art project that featured a woodpecker mounted on a traffic camera on the E4 near Stockvik. The artist created an unidentified (but massive) number of plastic monkeys, about 1 meter in length in another one of Max Magnus Norman's art commissions. * He put these monkeys up in various settings around Sundsvall's tiny city. One monkey was riding a crocodile in the middle of Sel's central stream, and one of them was placed on a traffic light, making it appear that the monkeys were in charge of the traffic, although some monkeys were even placed under water. A few of these monkeys remain, amongst the other one flying 20 meters into the air, holding a beer can over the intersection Köpmangatan-Thulegatan is missing a 30 centimeter. The long penis sparked some local outcry, which was noted by the Swedish media: the "obscene sculpture" in particular attracted attention and critique from the two most popular Swedish newspapers, Aftonbladet and Expressen, which attracted some local outrage. Norman's sculpture, as it happened, coexisted with several other "phallic" Swedish works of art that year, including a complete nude Jesus; the fact that Norman's sculpture came as a warning to the young boosted its stature, as well as the artist's.
