Matthew James Moy (born February 3, 1984) is an American actor and singer.

Han Lee co-starred on CBS's 2 Broke Girls and also provided the voice of Lars Barriga on Steven Universe.

Early life and education

In San Francisco, California, Moy was born and raised. Moy is a fourth-generation Chinese-American. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Japanese and a minor in linguistics from the University of California, Davis. Moy's father was a high school coach, while his mother was a language therapist. He has one elder sister.

Personal life

Moy lives in Los Angeles. Moy enjoys cooking, writing, and traveling when not acting or painting.

Moy unknowingly suffered a minor stroke in his sleep during the second season of 2 Broke Girls in 2012, awakening to feelings of sadness and motor skill loss in his right hand. He pushed himself into urgent care, and doctors discovered bleeding in his brain, but no further damage has been made. A year of physical therapy, including walking with a cane for assistance on sets and learning to write with his right hand, was helpful in Moy's right side, but he's since recovered fully. Until 2017, Moy kept the incident private from the public media.

On iCarly, Moy appeared on many television shows, including How I Met Your Mother, Criminal Minds, Zeke and Luther, Good Luck Charlie, and Kickin' It, as Shawn the Mathlete. In the ninth season of the sitcom Scrubs, he appeared in Trang. In addition, he has appeared on Big Time Rush as Deke and The Middle as Takayuki, the Heck family's Japanese foreign exchange student. Lars Barriga appeared on the fifth episode of the Syfy reality game show Cha$e and voices on the Cartoon Network animated series Steven Universe, earning him critical praise.

Han Lee on CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls from 2011 to 2017. Writer Andrew Tissler condemned Moy's character as perpetuating "every possible Yellow Panic stereotype with an actually high degree of detail," and his use of broken English was described as being "much like some sorry minstrel show." Moy responded to criticism by saying that "we're a comedy" and that "we often go right to the edge." It doesn't bother me. I've been in this situation all my life. "I've made fun of all my life."
