Matthew Steven LeBlanc (born July 25, 1967) is an American actor and comedian.
In the NBC sitcom Friends and in its spin-off series Joey, he is best known for his portrayal of dim-witted, yet well-intentioned womaniser Joey Tribbiani.
LeBlanc was nominated for three Emmy Awards for his work on Friends.

Early life
LeBlanc was born in Newton, Massachusetts. Patricia (née Di Cillo) was his mother; Paul LeBlanc, his father, was a mechanic; his father, Patrick LeBlanc, was a mechanic. His father is of French-Canadian descent, and his mother is of Italian origins. Louis C.K., a student at Newton North High School, where he graduated in the same year as future comedian Louis C.K. He attended college at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston after high school. He dropped out right after starting his second semester.
LeBlanc started modeling at the age of 17, but was told he was too young to work in modeling. His acting career began after a woman invited him to an audition, where he was eventually signed by her manager. Despite having landed commercials and television and film roles before Friends, Joey Tribbiani was apparently down to his last 11 dollars before landing the role.
Personal life
LeBlanc has a keen interest in cars and worked as a carpenter before being a professional actor. In May 2003, he married Melissa McKnight, a British-born American model and a single mother of two children. They were introduced to each other by McKnight's assistant, Kelly Phillips (wife of actor Lou Diamond Phillips). LeBlanc proposed to her a year later. Their daughter, who was born in 2004, began experiencing seizures at eight months old. The condition, which was thought to be a result of dysplasia, had mostly disappeared by the time she was two years old. In October 2006, LeBlanc and McKnight divorced, citing irreconcilable inconsistencies.
Career
LeBlanc was first introduced in a 1987 Heinz Tomato Ketchup commercial. In 1988, he appeared on TV 101 for one season. He appeared on the hit Fox sitcom Married... with Children in 1991. Vinnie Verducci, a family friend of protagonist Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill), who briefly dates Kelly (Christina Applegate), appeared on television. He appeared in the first season of Red Shoe Diaries as a guest star. LeBlanc appeared in two short-lived Married... with Children spin-offs: Top of the Heap (1991) and Vinnie & Bobby (1992).
