Career

Kayla Brady appeared on NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1986 to 2010, 2009, and 2010 to present. Evans is best known for portraying Kayla Brady on the television soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1986 to 1992, 2006, 2006, and 2009. With Steve "Patch" Johnson played by Stephen Nichols, she became half of the supercouple Steve and Kayla in the 1980s. Steve and Kayla's first wedding, which was one of the largest in "Days" history, Evans said, "I think it was number one?" And the wedding was just so lavish. It was outside, which was a big deal on a daytime display. Evans appeared on the show in 1992, but it was revived (with Nichols) on June 12, 2006 after a fourteen-year absence. Evans and Nichols were written off Days of Our Lives in 2009. Evans returned in 2010 and has appeared on a regular basis every year. She was brought back to the series in 2015.

Piper was portrayed in the teen romantic comedy film Lovelines by Evans before her first appearance on Days of Our Lives. She has appeared in several primetime television series, including Madame's Place, Father Murphy, Knight Rider, Masquerade, Remington Steele, Riptide, Murder, and Body of Proof.

During her days at Days of Our Lives, Evans appeared on other daytime soap operas. Katherine Bell, the nefarious Katherine Bell, appeared on GM General Hospital (and later on Port Charles) in September 1993. Evans travelled to New York City to perform Sierra Estaban from December 2000 to late 2005, then reprising the role from July 2010 to the show's conclusion on September 17, 2010. One Life to Live had nearly signed Dr. Paige Miller on a contract in 2005, but Evans resigned at the last minute, and Kimberlin Brown took over the role.

Sara Garrett, who has appeared on the soap opera web series The Bay since 2010, has appeared on the soap opera web series The Bay. She received the Outstanding New Approaches Drama Series Award in 2015 as a producer for the series. Evans was nominated again as a producer in a digital Daytime Drama Series for portraying Sara.
