Martina McBride Life

Martina Mariea McBride (née Schiff, born July 29, 1966) is an American country music singer-songwriter and record producer.

She is known for her soprano singing range and her country pop songs. McBride joined RCA Records in 1991 and made her debut as a neo-traditionalist country singer with the single "The Time Has Come."

Over time, she developed a pop-styled crossover sound, similar to Shania Twain and Faith Hill, and released a series of hit singles on the Billboard charts and occasionally on the adult contemporary chart.

Five of these singles went to No. No. Between 1995 and 2001, one of the country charts reached No. 1, and the other reached No. 1. In 2003, there was 1 on the adult contemporary chart.

Since being recognized for her soprano singing range, she was dubbed the "Celine Dion of Country Music." McBride has thirteen studio albums, two greatest hits compilations, one "live" album, and two more compilation albums.

Eight of her studio albums and two of her compilations have received RIAA Gold or higher.

She has more than 14 million albums in the United States.

In addition, McBride has received the Country Music Association's "Female Vocalist of the Year" award four times (tied with Reba McEntire for the second-most wins) and the Academy of Country Music's "Best Female Vocalist" award three times.

She is also a 14-time Grammy Award nominee.

Early life

McBride was born in Sharon, Kansas, on July 29, 1966. Marty (Darly Martin Schiff jr.) and her half brother Steve, Marty, appeared in her concert band as of 2017, as well as a 1/2 sister, Gina.

Daryl and Jeanne Schiff, McBride's parents, owned a dairy farm. Daryl, the owner of a cabinetry shop, first introduced her to country music at a young age. She discovered a passion for singing while listening to country music. She performed for hours after school to the songs of such well-known artists as Reba McEntire, Linda Ronstadt, Juice Newton, Jeanne Pruett, Connie Smith, and Patsy Cline. Martina began performing with "The Schiffters," a band her father fronted about eight or nine years ago. As she aged, her place in the band escalated from simply singing to playing keyboard with them. She loved performing in her youth.

In Wichita, McBride performed with The Penetrators, a local rock band. Schiff assembled a group of musicians called Lotus in 1987 and began searching for rehearsal space; she began renting studio space from studio engineer John McBride. The two couples married in 1988.

The couple married in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1989, with the intention of starting a career in country music. John McBride served with Garth Brooks' sound crew and later became his concert production manager. She used to accompany her husband on the road and helped sell Garth Brooks souvenirs. Brooks offered her the opportunity of her debut artist in 1990, impressed by her zealous spirit, provided she could obtain a recording contract. During this period, although her husband was working with country artists Charlie Daniels and Ricky Van Shelton, she also assisted with the production of her demo tape, which helped her gain a recording deal with RCA Nashville Records in 1991.

Personal life

Martina Schiff, a well-known sound engineer who lived up to that time, adopted John McBride's name as her stage name in 1988, using his family name as her stage name. The couple has three children: Delaney Katharine (born December 22, 1994), Emma Justine (born March 29, 1998), and Ava Rose Kathleen (born June 20, 2005). Since becoming a mother, the singer reduced her touring schedule so that her children could have a normal upbringing. Joe Galante said this was "an enormous choice in terms of money," but McBride had made it abundantly clear that she wanted to be involved in her daughters' lives.

Martina McBride Career

Music career

In 1992, McBride recorded her debut studio album, titled The Time Has Come. It was produced by Paul Worley and Ed Seay. This album's title track climbed to number 23 on the country music charts, while the next two singles fell short of the Top 40. The Time Has Come featured honky tonk and country folk influences, unlike her later country pop-influenced albums.

McBride's second album, "The Way That I Am," was McBride's second album. "My Baby Loves Me," the album's de facto title track, debuted at number two, and "Life No. 1" took her into the top ten. At number nine, a 9-inch peak was reached. Patricia Conroy, a former Top ten hit in Canada, was formerly a Top ten favorite. "Independence Day," the country's third single, was denied a top ten by a few radio programmers who reacted angrily to the song's subject of a mother battling abuse by burning the family's house to the ground. At the Country Music Association Awards, "Independence Day" received Video of the Year and Song of the Year. Gretchen Peters, the song's arranger, was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Country Song. McBride was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Vocal Performance. At the 1995 Grammy Awards ceremony, McBride performed the song. The fourth and fifth singles from The Way That I Am were less popular: "Heart Trouble" peaked at number 21, while "Where I Used to Have a Heart" fell short of the Top 40. McBride later expressed her dissatisfaction with these single choices, claiming that "Strangers" would have been a more popular sequel than her predecessor and that she later appeared on her first greatest-hits album. The Way That I Am was named platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

"My Baby Loves Me (Just The Way That I Am)," as produced and broadcast, had a sing-along quality, prompting McBride to sing it in her subsequent concerts in the same way.

Wild Angels, McBride's third album, was released in 1995. It was also hit by another Top 5 hit in its lead single "Safe in the Arms of Love," which had previously been released by both Wild Choir and Baillie & the Boys, and Michelle Wright simultaneously released in Canada by Michelle Wright at the time of McBride's version. The album's title track went on to become McBride's first No. 1. In early 1996, the country charts had a single one on the country charts. "Phones Are Ringin' All Around Town," "Swingin' Doors," and "Cry on the Shoulder of the Road" were less popular, despite being in the lower regions of the Top 40.

McBride released two duets in early 1997, before "Cry on the Shoulder of the Road" peaked. "Still Holding On," a duet with Clint Black that was the lead-off single on her fourth album Evolution and Black's album Nothin' but the Taillights, and "Valentine," a pop pianist Jim Brickman's collaboration on his album Picture This. On "Chances Are" with Bob Seger, she also performed duet vocals, and she appeared on the soundtrack of 1998 motion film Hope Floats.

In late 1997, she had her second appearance on the country charts with "A Broken Wing," her second single from her Evolution album. Evolution continued to produce four more Top ten hits at country radio: "Valentine," "Good Girl," "Wrong Again," "Wrong Again" (which also went to number one), and "Whatever You Say" were among the top ten hits on radio. The album was rated double platinum in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America for delivering two million units toward the end of 1998. In addition, she received the Country Music Association's "Female Vocalist of the Year" award in 1999 and then appeared alongside President Bill Clinton at the same time.

McBride's first Christmas album, White Christmas, also in 1998, featured a version of "O Holy Night" that first charted in 1997 and continued to re-enter the charts until 2001. She also appeared on Jason Sellers' "This Small Divide" in mid-1998.

Emotion, McBride's sixth studio album, was released in 1999. "I Love You," the company's lead single, debuted on the Billboard country charts in 1999 and then moved to the Adult Contemporary chart. "Love's the Only House" and "There You Are" are the song's sequels, and "It's My Time" debuted at number 11 on country radio, while "It's My Time" peaked at number 11.

Greatest Hits, she released in 2001, became her first collection. The Recording Industry Association of America has given this album the coveted Platinum award in sales, and it's her most well-selling album. It featured the majority of her major hits up to that point, as well as the album track "Strangers" from the album The Way That I Am, which she put on the album because she felt it should have been a single. The album also contained four new songs, "When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues" (at number 8), "Blessed" (at number 1), "Where Would You Be" (at number 3), and "Concrete Angel" (at number 5). On "Blessed" she sang backing vocals; on Johnson's late-2000 debut single, "Georgia," Carolyn Johnson sang backing vocals. McBride sang backing vocals on Andy Griggs' album "Practice Life" in 2002.

McBride's seventh studio album, Martina, honoring womanhood, was released in 2003. "This One's for the Girls," the first single on the country charts, debuted at number three on the charts and became the only top-one hit on the Adult Contemporary charts. It also featured backing vocals from Faith Hill, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, and McBride's children, Delaney and Emma. The sequel "In My Daughter's Eyes" was also a Top 5 hit in both country and adult contemporary. "How Far" and "God's Will" both made the Top 20 at country radio, as did her guest appearance on Jimmy Buffett's album "Trip Around the Sun," where her chart overlapped with that of "God's Will."

McBride won the CMA's Female Vocalist award for the fourth time in 2004, ranking her for the most major titles with Reba McEntire in that segment.

McBride's new studio album, Timeless, was released in 2005, which featured country covers, after being successful in country pop-styled music. "You Win Again," Hank Williams' "You Ain't Woman Enough," Loretta Lynn's "You Ain't Woman Enough"), and Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through the Night" were included on the album. McBride and her husband recruited older Nashville session players and old analog equipment in order to make the album fit their older style. Within the first week, the album sold over 250,000 copies, marking the highest-sales start for a McBride album. The lead single, a remake of Lynn Anderson's "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden"), debuted on the country charts at number 18, but the other two singles were unable to make top 40.

McBride was a guest coach on Canadian Idol in 2006. The remaining five finalists travelled to Nashville, where McBride performed with the performers on the songs they had selected by country artists such as Gordon Lightfoot and Patsy Cline. Nelly Furtado and Cyndi Lauper were among the other guest judges this year. McBride later joined Canadian Idol on a tour in the spring. McBride appeared on Fox Networks' television program, American Idol, as a guest coach in 2007.

Waking Up Laughing, McBride's ninth studio album, was released in 2007. It was McBride's first album on which some of the songs were co-written. In 2007, she began her Waking Up Laughing Tour, which included country artists Rodney Atkins, Little Big Town, and Jason Michael Carroll. "Anyway," the album's lead single, debuted at No. 1. On the Billboard Country Chart, 5 is the highest-ranked woman since 2003, with her first Top 10 debut since 2003. She also contributed to the debut of "A Life Interrupted" in a Lifetime film called "A Life Interrupted," which premiered on April 23, 2007. "How I Feel," the follow-up to the previous one, made it to the top of the charts. McBride released Martina McBride: Live In Concert, a CD/DVD set, in spring 2008. In September 2007, a tape was taped in Moline, Illinois.

The ABC Television Network introduced Six Degrees of Martina McBride in July 2007, where people from around the country were encouraged to visit McBride to learn about their own connections and research using a maximum of six methods. The "winner" of this contest eventually discovered a direct link to McBride through her husband, John, who knew someone who knew someone else. On Elvis Presley's new album, The Elvis Presley Christmas Duets, McBride performed his song "Blue Christmas" as a duet with him. Playlist: Martina McBride's Very Best was a compilation collection published on December 16, 2008 as part of the Sony BMG Playlist collection. The album contains 11 previously released tracks as well as three unreleased tracks.

In late 2008, McBride began recording her tenth studio album. In October 2008, "Ride" the first single, was introduced to radio, peaking at No. 1 in the first week. No. On the Hot Country Songs chart, 43 are at 43. It barely made it to the top ten on the chart, peaking at number eleven in March 2009. Kristin Barlowe's music video was also released at the end of the year. Shine, RCA Records' ninth album, was released on March 24, 2009, and it debuted at number one on the US Country album chart and number ten on the Billboard 200. McBride co-produced the album with Dann Huff, and it included "Sunny Side Up," a song she co-wrote. "I Just Call You Mine," the second single from May 2009, debuted in May 2009 and made it to the top 20. The Warren Brothers co-wrote "Wrong Baby Wrong," the Warren Brothers co-wrote with Robert Ellis Orrall and Love and Theft member Stephen Barker Liles, the third single from Shine.

In addition, McBride introduced the Shine All Night Tour, a co-headlining venture with fellow country artist Trace Adkins and opening act Sarah Buxton. The tour began in November 2009 and ended in May 2010.

McBride had collaborated on a song with Kid Rock with Billboard on June 10, 2010. McBride was nominated for a Teen Choice Award in late June 2010 for "Favorite Country Female Artist," alongside country stars Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, and Gretchen Wilson.

McBride was nominated for two American Country Awards in late 2010 (Best Female Single & Touring Artist of the Year w/ Trace Adkins). In October, she received her 14th Female Vocalist nomination for Country Music Association alongside the ACA's nominations.

McBride left RCA in November 2010 and signed with Republic Nashville. She began working on a new studio album with producer Byron Gallimore. "Teenage Daughters," she co-wrote with the Warren Brothers, is her first single for Republic Nashville. McBride told Country Weekly that she co-wrote eight of the eleven songs on the record; she felt more confident in her songwriting skills after "Anyway" became a hit. In June 2011, an album track called "One Night" was announced as a NASCAR advertisement.

On July 25, 2011, "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" was announced as the album's second single. The song became a critical and commercial hit, peaking at number 4 and becoming her first top-five hit since 2006's "Anyway." The album, Eleven, was released on October 11, 2011. Its third album was a tribute to Train's "Marry Me," which was released as a duet with Train lead singer Pat Monahan. McBride was nominated for the CMA's Female Vocalist award in September 2011, and the 14th time in a row.

In 2012, RCA Records released two compilation albums, Hits and More in January, and The Essential Martina McBride in October.

On April 8, 2014, McBride released Everlasting, a series of R&B and Soul covers, on Kobalt Label Services. Don Was is the album's producer, and it features duets with Kelly Clarkson and Gavin DeGraw.

McBride was nominated for her 17th Female Vocalist nomination by the Country Music Association in September 2014. Before McEntire's 18th nomination in 2017, she was tied with Reba McEntire for most nominations in any vocalist class.

McBride's "Reeckless," the title track on a new album, was released in 2016. Through Nash Icon Records, Reckless was first released on April 29. It was shot at Blackbird Studios and produced by Nathan Chapman and Dann Huff. The album features ten songs, one of which is the previously released single "Reckless." Making this album felt like "coming home," McBride said. Reckless debuted on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart at number two.

During the CMT Music Awards in June 8, 2016, McBride premiered the video for her second album, "Just Around the Corner." This is the official Band Against Cancer anthem. Band Against Cancer is a community-based campaign led by Sarah Cannon (HCA's cancer institute) in collaboration with Big Machine Label Group and McBride, aimed at raising funds, assistance, and assistance to cancer patients. A number of concerts have been organized around the country, with McBride as a headliner.

Love Unleashed, the singer's debut in August 2016, announced in August 2016. The tour was designed to unite people and spread love by the power of music, according to McBride, as a result of the "tragedy and confusion in the world." She was also chosen as one of the 30 artists to perform on "Forever Country," a mash-up track of Take Me Home, Country Roads; On the Road Again; and I Will Always Love You, a tribute to the CMA Awards, which is in honor of 50 years.

McBride revealed in July 2017 that she is planning on releasing a Christmas album, but that it will not have as many hymns on it as it will. It's likely that it will be more popular holiday traditions like "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" and "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" would be more. "One is a new Christmas album, which will be released in 2018," she says. The Christmas album It's the Holiday Season was released on October 19, 2018. This will accompany a Christmas tour called "Joy of Christmas" as well as a book titled "Martina's Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life" which will be published on October 30, 2018. Following her 2014 publication of "Around the Table: Recipes and Inspiration for Gatherings Around the Year," McBride's second cookbook, "Around the Table: Recipes and Inspiration for Gatherings Throughout the Year." Martina has produced a new show on Food Network, which is broadcast on Sundays at 11 a.m. eastern.

McBride introduced Vocal Point, a "freewheeling, wide-ranging" topical conversation series, in 2019.

McBride appeared in the second season of NBC's Songland on May 4, 2020, and performed "Girls Like Me" on the NBC.

McBride's Master Royalty Rights to Primary Wave were sold in March 2022. In addition, the company acquired the rights to her Everlasting album and the singer's It's the Holiday Season Christmas album. McBride was named as the opening act on The Judds Final Tour, but Naomi Juddd passed away before the tour could begin. Wynonna, her daughter, announced at her memorial that she and McBride would honor the tour dates as a tribute to Naomi.

Maya Louise Chappell (top-right) was airlifted to the hospital in a critical state following an incident on September 28 at a home in Milton Grove, Shotton Colliery, County Durham. She died two days later in intensive care at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary. Michael Daymond, 26, has been charged with her murder and will face her in court next year. Yesterday, a funeral was held at Our Blessed Lady and St Joseph, near Leadgate. The coachman brought the carriage carrying her tiny pink coffin to a halt, bringing the people to a halt. Marie and Rosie, two horses, and the glamorous grey Lipizzaners, were all dressed in pink plumes and drapes, with each of them sporting a unicorn horn (bottom-centre) as they carried her coffin through the streets.
