Early life and education

Marilyn Lightstone, a student at Baron Byng High School in Montreal, Quebec, graduated in 1957. She continued to McGill University, where she earned a bachelor's degree. Lightstone attended and graduated from the National Theatre School.

Miss Stacey appeared on Canadian television in Anne of Green Gables and Road to Avonlea. She has received two Canadian Film Awards, including a Goldman for Best Actress in Lies My Father Told Me and a Genie for Best Supporting Actress for In Praise of Older Women. For The Tin Flute, she received the Best Actress award at the Moscow International Film Festival.

Goneril in King Lear at the Lincoln Centre in New York, Mash in Chekov's The Seagull, and Leah in The Dybbuk are among her stage appearances. Lightstone appeared in a play directed by Moses Znaimer, Miss Margarida, in 1976. Tamara to audiences in New York and Los Angeles, another Znaimer production. She appeared in the lead role in the play Tamara to audiences.
