Mariann Aalda (born May 7, 1948) is an American television, stage, film actress, and stand-up comedian.
Career
Aalda is best known for her appearances on television as one of the first African-American daytime soap opera heroines, appearing DiDi Bannister-Stoner on ABC's The Edge of Night from 1981 to 1984, a play by the actress. She was a writer-performer with Off Center Theatre in New York for many years before deciding to perform with The Prov Group, a Boston-based improv group, alongside notable animation voice actor and director Charlie Adler. She appeared on the CBS show Guiding Light later this year. She appeared on The Royal Family, as the granddaughter of Redd Foxx and Della Reese, and the HBO series 1st & Ten as the wife of O.J. Simpson's character.
