Margo Rae Price (born April 15, 1983) is an American country singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee.

"She will be the country's next superstar," the Fader has dubbed her. Midwest Farmer's Daughter, her debut solo album, was released on Third Man Records on March 25, 2016.

Matt Ross-Spang engineered the album at Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, and was engineered by him.

The album was shot in three days.

The Pricetags, her band's support on tour, are behind her. Price was nominated for Best New Artist at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in December 2018.

Personal life

Jeremy Ivey, who plays guitar in her band, is married to her. In 2010, Price gave birth to twin boys, one of whom died shortly after birth. Price gave birth to a girl on June 4, 2019.

The price of living in Aledo, Illinois, where she played piano and sang in church choir before attending dance and theater at Northern Illinois University.

Price taught children dance at a YMCA in Nashville, including waiting tables, constructing and removing residential siding. Price and her partner, guitarist Jeremy Ivey, were part of the Secret Handshake, a group that only performed political songs before she and Ivey founded Buffalo Clover and later developed Margo and the Pricetags, which she describes as "supposed to be a supergroup." Both Sturgill Simpson and Kenny Vaughan, a long-time guitarist in Marty Stuart's band, have appeared in the lineup at various times.

Rolling Stone Country has described Price as "a fixture of the East Nashville music scene" and appeared on the magazine's list of Country Artists You Should Know in 2014. Aaron Lee Tasjan, a fellow Nashville musician, describes her as "a singular and significant piece of this scene as a thing unto herself."

Price was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on April 9, 2016. She made her UK television debut on Later... with Jools Holland on May 17, 2016. In addition to her appearance on television, her songs have appeared on BBC Radio 6Music's shows, most notably with Steve Lamacq. 1] She appeared on Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on October 6, 2016. "All American Made" (a Buffalo Clover song) and "Hands of Time" from Midwest Farmer's Daughter were on Charlie Rose on November 16, 2016.

Price has a following in the United Kingdom, with her album debuting on the UK Country Album chart, embarking on UK tours in 2016 and 2017, as well as winning 3 awards from the UK American Academy of Music. In 2018, she appeared at the C2C: Country to Country festival.

Price also does singing in her shows, acoustic guitar and electric guitar are included. In addition,, there is a second drum kit on stage, and as part of a coda for one or another of her songs, she plays those drums for a lengthy jam with the remainder of the band.
