Marcus Peters (born January 9, 1993) is an American football cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL).

Early years
Peters attended and graduated from McClymonds High School in Oakland, California, where he played football and ran track. Curtis McCauley's bencher played him as a cornerback. He had seven interceptions and six touchdowns on kick or punt returns as a senior. He also served as a wide receiver and kicker. He was dubbed the MVP of the Oakland Athletic League as he led the Warriors to a 12–0 record, the school's first perfect season.
Peters competed as a sprinter in track & field. He also won the 100 meters (10.87 s) and 200 meters (22.91 s) at the Oakland Athletic League Championships as a senior.

College career
In 2011, Peters was redshirted as a freshman. Peters started eight of 13 games, receiving 44 tackles, three interceptions, and a touchdown as a redshirt freshman in 2012. He appeared in 12 of 13 games, had five interceptions, 55 tackles, and one sack as a sophomore in 2013. Peters was suspended one game in 2014 for a "sideline tantrum." In November, he was suspended from the team due to discipline problems.
Professional career
Peters declared on December 16, 2014, that he did not want to return to service and join the 2015 NFL Draft. Peters completed all of the combine and positional drills at the NFL Scout Combine and Positional drills. Peters attended Washington's Pro Day on April 2, 2015, but opted to remain on his team numbers and only did positional drills. Peters visited multiple franchises, including the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and the Houston Texans. He also attended a private workout with the Atlanta Falcons. Peters was supposed to be a first or second round pick by NFL draft experts and scouts at the end of the pre-draft process. According to Sports Illustrated, he was the third best cornerback for NFL analysts Mike Mayock and Charles Davis, and was rated as the fourth best cornerback prospect by DraftScout.com.
In the first round (18th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Peters. Peters was the third cornerback drafted in 2015 and also became Washington's highest defensive back after Dana Hall (1992, fifth overall).
