Marco Silvestri (born 2 March 1991) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Italian club Hellas Verona.
Before joining Verona in 2017, he played in England for Leeds United and in Italy for Chievo, Reggiana, Padova and Cagliari.

Club career
Born in Castelnovo ne' Monti, the Province of Reggio Emilia, Emilia, Romagna, Emilia-Romagna, Emilia–Romagna, Emilia–Romagna, Emilia. Silvestri began his career at Emilia club Modena. In the 2009-10 season, Enrico Alfonso and Antonio Narciso were the third keeper.
Silvestri was signed by Chievo on a provisional basis in August 2010, with the ability to buy half of his registration rights. He was the team's third keeper, after Stefano Sorrentino and Lorenzo Squizzi. Silvestri was also the first choice keeper for the "spring" under-20 team. Chievo tried to buy Silvestri in a joint venture in June 2011 for €300,000.
Silvestri returned to Reggio Emilia in July to replace Niccol Manfredini. However, Silvestri became Niccol Bellucci's backup after round 12. Silvestri reaffirmed as the first choice after the winter break. Chievo acquired Silvestri outright for another €150,000 in June 2012.

International career

Silvestri earned his first cap for the Italy U20 team in December 2009. He appeared in the round three of the 2009–10 Nations Tournament, replacing Antonio Piccolo in the second half. In addition, he appeared in the last round (round 6) of the tournament. In the 2010-11 version, Silvestri played twice (out of six games).
In June 2011, he was chosen by Ciro Ferrara for the Italy Under 21s team to represent his country in the 2011 Toulon Tournament, serving as a back-up to Sergio Viotti. Silvestri only appeared in the bronze match once. He did not get a call-up for the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualifier, which was held in a separate tournament.
Ermes Fulgoni, Parma's former goalkeeper, described Silvestri as the successor to Buffon and promised him to be Italy's next top goalkeeper on July 17th.
