Career
Cross began her television career on the soap opera The Edge of Night in 1984, playing Liz Correll's recurring role. After that, she moved from New York to Los Angeles and then found roles in television shows such as The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James, co-starring Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. She appeared in 1986 on ABC daytime soap opera One Life to Live, where she played Kate Sanders until 1987. She continued to do so with guest appearances on primetime shows such as Who's the Boss?, Quantum Leap, Knots Landing, and Cheers.
Cross appeared as Dr. Kimberly Shaw in the Fox primetime soap opera Melrose Place in 1992. In the fifth season, she returned. She has appeared on sitcoms such as Seinfeld, Boy Meets World, Ally McBeal, Spin City, and The King of Queens. CSI, Strong Medicine, Profiler, and Touched by an Angel are among her dramatic appearances.
