Marc Yaffee (born January 15, 1961) is a Native American comedian, writer, actor, and podcast host.

After attending a comedy workshop at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club in Sacramento, CA, Marc began doing stand-up comedy in 1999.

Since then, he has appeared in 43 states and 11 countries.

Early life

Marc Yaffee was born in East Los Angeles, California. Marc was adopted at birth by a Mexican American mother (Lucina Yaffee née Chavira) and a Jewish father (Asher 'Bud' Yaffee). He only learned that his biological father was of Mexican Navajo Indigenous descent when he was contacted by his birth mother, decades later at the age of 25. Marc and his adopted sister, Patty, were raised in the East San Fernando Valley. He attended St. Genevieve Elementary and High School before going on to obtain a Diploma in International Relations at the University of San Diego.

Career

Marc Yaffee started his comedy career in his mid-30s. Yaffee has visited 43 states and 11 countries from four continents. These areas, including the Persian Gulf, Germany, Korea, and Japan, are among others. Marc has appeared on PBS, FNX, The Latino Laugh Festival, and Showtime's "Goin' Native." On NativeFlix.com, Marc's comedy special "Marc My Words" (2018) airs. Marc appeared on Showtime's special, Goin' Native: The American Indian Comedy Slam, as well as PBS' Crossing the Line, SiTV's The Latino Laugh Festival, and Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. Marc is also a former writer for George Carlin's Laugh.com and has appeared on five occasions in the United States' entertaining over seas. Troops in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East have arrived.

Catch A Rising Star, The Ice House, The Comedy Underground, Comedy Underground, and The Improv Comedy Club are among his club credits.

Marc is a founding member of the Pow Wow Comedy Jam, which began in 2004, and he has appeared with fellow Native American comedians Vaughn Eaglebear and Howie Miller. The trio are a regular fixture at casino shows, tribal festivals, and VIP Player parties. Marc is a fan of the promotion of Indian gaming establishments and tribal tourism. The trio has been performing together since 2005 on "The Trail of Laughs" and has been named National Indian Gaming Association Entertainers of the Year. Their album, "Phase 3 Live at Coeur D'Alene Casino," was named the Best American Indigenous Image Awards Comedian Comedy CD of the Year by North American Indigenous Image Awards.

Marc is the maker of, and a co-star in, the Boomerang Baby Boomer Comedy Bash, where he shares tales, parody, and observations about growing up as part of the Baby-Boomer generation. Yaffee has appeared on national syndicated Bob & Tom Shows with Hawaiian-born comedian Adam Stone, a regular at the Laugh Factory in Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, and has also appeared on national syndicated Bob & Tom.

Yaffee was recruited for and shot a TV pilot in which he played a comedian educating new immigrants on citizenship. It never went to air. Gerry Bednob (Mooj from The 40-Year Virgin) and Steven Michael Quezada are among the show's cast members. (Agent Gomez from Breaking Bad) Marc's role as a comedian turned citizenship educator and his immigrant students were the subject of the show. In the premiere episode of the new stand-up comedy "First Nations Comedy Experience" for the FNX, Yaffee also co-starred. (First Nations Experience Network).

Marc Yaffee is the creator and host of a podcast titled "How Does It Happen" which premiered in 2019. The podcast highlights interviews with people of an unusual origin.
