Cary has performed and recorded with many well-known artists, including Dizzy Gillespie, Betty Carter, Roy Hargrove, Arthur Taylor, Abbey Lincoln, Carlos Garnett, Erykah Badu, Meshell Ndegeocello, Teresa McLean, Lauryn Hill, Q-Tip, and Carmen McRae, including Dizzy Gillespie, Betty Carter, Timothy Carter, Roy Hargrove, Arthur Taylor, Arthur Taylor, Arthur Taylor, Arthur Taylor, Cary grew up in Washington, D.C., playing on the go-google music scene. He eventually moved to New York City, and it was through his relationship with Abbey Lincoln that broad audiences were first introduced to his rhythmic style, which draws on Randy Weston and McCoy Tyner's influence.
