Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (born February 25, 1981) is a Mexican actor.

He is best known for his roles in films including Cake and Bless Me, Ultima, and the television show From Dusk to Dawn: The Series.

In the 2016 reboot The Magnificent Seven, he appeared as one of the titular characters.

Early life

Garca-Rulfo was born in Guadala, Jalisco, Mexico. He grew up on a ranch in Jalisco, where he learned to ride horses. He went to Vermont to study English at one point. He attended the University del Valle de Atemajac, where he concentrated on communications until he realized his passion for filmmaking. He attended the New York Film Academy but decided to return to Mexico to continue his acting career.

Career

With Bless Me, Ultima, Garcia-Rulfo made his first big American film as Uncle Pedro. In The Magnificent Seven remake, he played outlaw Vasquez, one of the title characters. The job required him to learn how to fight, which he found daunting, though he said, "I got blisters, but it was hilarious." Biniamino Marquez, a character who appeared in the book as Antonio Foscarelli and was adapted specifically for him, appeared in Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express in 2017.

Garca-Rulfo was cast as Mickey Haller in a Netflix television adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer, replacing Logan Marshall-Green in early 2021.
