Music career
Harvey became depressed and quit playing after completely losing her hearing in 2007. Nevertheless, she learned how to find the right pitches for singing with the help of visual tuners. She first performed regularly at Jay's Bistro in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2008. She appeared at Dazzle Jazz Lounge in Denver later in the evening and released three studio jazz albums. "The vocals are rich and captivating," JazzTimes wrote about her 2009 debut album, Smile. After You've Gone, her second album, was released in 2010.
