Maeve Binchy Life

Maeve Binchy Snell (28 May 1939 – 30 July 2012) was an Irish novelist, playwright, columnist, and speaker best known for her sympathetic and often amusing representation of small-town life in Ireland, her descriptive characters, her interest in human anatomy, and her often humorous surprise endings. * Her books, which were translated into 37 languages worldwide, sold more than 40 million copies worldwide, and her death at the age of 73, which was announced by Vincent Browne on Irish television late on July 30th as the death of one of Ireland's most popular and most recognisable writers. * In a 2000 survey for World Book Day, she was ranked third, ahead of Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Stephen King, who was acknowledged for her "complete absence of malice" and kindness to other writers.

If I'd had sex with someone, we'd have been electrocuted.' Was this flirting? It seemed like flirting, so she said, 'Oop,' calling on her vocabulary of not-quite-words: oop, wah, fum, bah, owa, phla.'
