Early life
Luke Bryan was born in Leesburg, Georgia, to LeClaire and Tommy Bryan, who owned a peanut farm. Luke was supposed to move to Nashville at the age of 19, but his elder brother Chris "was tragically killed in a car crash." I'm kind of hyperventilating thinking about it. "You never really... move beyond it." "We knew Luke would arrive in Nashville at some point," his mother said. "But you can't leave your family, and..." I couldn't bear the thought of him being away."
In lieu, Luke went to college at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, where he joined the Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. In a Georgia bar, Luke Bryan met his future wife Caroline. They were dating for a year and a half before she met Luke. Luke and Caroline split up, with Luke heading to Nashville to concentrate on jazz while Caroline going back to focus on herself. Luke returned to school and was performing in a bar where they reunited with each other for the first time in a few years.
Bryan made it to Nashville two years after his father told him to pack his truck to pursue a career in music. He started out as a writer but soon after, he joined as a performer; "All My Friends Say" became his first big success.
Personal life
Bryan is married to Caroline Boyer. They married on December 8, 2006, and they have two sons together. They live in Williamson County, near Nashville. After Luke's older sister Kelly passed away, they renamed the house "Red Dirt Farm." His house is based off of the Blackberry farm in Knoxville, Tennessee.
