Luann de Lesseps (born LuAnn Nadeau, 1965) is an American television personality, model, and singer.

She married French entrepreneur and aristocrat Count Alexandre de Lesseps in 1993, but she retained the honor code "countess" until her remarriage in 2016.

After being cast in the reality television series The Real Housewives of New York City, which chronicles the lives of many women living in New York City, de Lesseps rose to fame in 2008.

In 2018, Luann debuted "Countess and Friends," a cabaret performance of her own creation.

Early life

LuAnn Nadeau was born in Berlin, Connecticut, where she grew up with her six siblings and father owned a building business. She has stated that her father is of Algonquin and French descent, and that her mother is a French Canadian. De Lesseps revealed that she captained her high school's varsity softball team in a first episode of Real Housewives.

Personal life

Noel and Victoria were born in 1993 and together they have two children, Noel and Victoria. In 2009, the couple separated. Lesseps married Tom D'Agostino Jr. on December 31, 2016, losing her "countes" courtesy title in the process. De Lesseps and D'Agostino were divorced in August 2017. The divorce had been ruled out of court and would be finalized "imminently" in October 2017.

Bethenny Frankel, de Lesseps' RHONY co-star, reported that de Lesseps had chosen not to film the show's reunion in order to re-enter an alcohol rehab program. After just under three weeks, De Lesseps had left the factory.

De Lesseps, 22, 2022, was caught on March 16, 2022, waving profanities to the audience at a piano bar in New York City. Lesseps, a 2022 woman, released a statement apologizing for her behavior and admitting that her battle with alcohol is still real.

Career

De Lesseps was both a licensed practical nurse in Connecticut and a Wilhelmina model.

She is one of Bravo's most notable cast members of The Real Housewives of New York City. Due to her inability to live in New York City at the time of filming, she was promoted to a recurring "Friend of the Housewives" role in season 6. In April 2015, it was confirmed that de Lesseps will return as a key cast member for the show's seventh season.

In the episode "Bully," playing a socialite who makes a horrific discovery, de Lesseps guest appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, playing a socialite who makes a tragic discovery.

Lesseps penned a book titled "How to Live with Elegance and Flair" (published by Gotham Books) on April 16, 2009, and her first album, "Money Can't Buy You Class," was released on May 25, 2010. In June 2011, she released "Chic C'est la Vie," her second single. On July 6, 2015, she unveiled "Girl Code," her third single. "Feeling Jovani," De Lesseps' fourth album, was released in June 2019. Desmond Child, a Grammy-winning songwriter and producer, released "Viva La Diva" in September 2020.

In February 2017, Lesseps appeared in the Bermuda film Maternal Secrets.

At Feinstein's/54 Below in Midtown Manhattan in February 2018, de Lesseps headlined her own cabaret performance, #CountCountersAndFriends. De Lesseps has performed songs about her life as a countess and reality TV actress with appearances from celebrity co-star Sonja Morgan on Housewives. Lesseps revealed in August 2018 that she was on tour, with appearances in Long Island and New Jersey scheduled.
