Santana was born in Campo Grande, MS, on March 13, 1991 (MS). He first caught his family's interest at the age of three by performing Brazilian country music songs ('sertanejo's songs). He met sertanejo requirements including Muda de vida, Chico Mineiro, and Cabocla.

Santana held 300 concerts in Brazil in 2009, with an average of 25 performances per month. Extra's Extra described him as the "new phenomenon of sertanejo music" in 2010. Santana performed at the 2010 Festa do Pepe de Barretos, where he appeared for a 50-thousand-people audience. He collaborated with Enrique Iglesias on the Brazilian version of "Bailando" in 2014.
