Personal life
In 1990, Jameson married Martin Bedford, an artist who she had seen while filming Bergerac in Jersey. In 1997, the two married. During the first few years of her life, Jameson was a regular prison visitor monitoring prisoners' welfare; and, during the 1970s, she met Leslie Grantham at Leyhill Prison in Gloucestershire, where he was serving 12 years of a life term for murder. Grantham was encouraged by her mother to be a comedian.
