G-Unit was established by childhood friends Lloyd Banks, 50 cent, and Tony Yayo, who decided to form a group. When the UTP group arrived in New York, they heard Young Buck rapping. After 50 Cent signed his Aftermath Entertainment, they took Young Buck in the company and signed him. Tony Yayo, a veteran and veteran rapper, appeared on the Nas Promo Tour and Ruff Ryders Tour, earning 50 Cents on the tour. As bankers remained at home waiting for 50 and Yayo's return, he began rapping around the neighborhood to fuel his street buzz. He later collaborated with local designers and recorded tracks for local mixtapes, becoming well-known on the mixtape scene. Though Banks was recording Mixtapes, 50 Cent was soon granted his own recording name by Dr. Dre and released the album Get Rich or Die Tryin'; Lloyd Banks was included on the album "Don't Push Me" and the remixed version of "P.I.M.P." Beg for Mercy, the group's first official group album that went on to be awarded double platinum shortly after it was established.

On September 10, 2001, Banks was shot twice while leaving a nightclub in Southside Jamaica, Queens. After being struck in the back and stomach, he was rushed to the nearest hospital. The Twin Towers fell to the ground as he awakened the news of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and watched from his hospital bed.

When the vehicle was pulled over after passing through a red light in midtown Manhattan during August 2005, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and their entourage were traveling in a van. Officers said they discovered a loaded handgun and another weapon in the van. Prosecutors requested a judge to dismiss the charges after an inquiry found that neither Lloyd Banks nor Young Buck were in possession of the weapons. On November 8, 2006, allegations of felony gun ownership against Lloyd Banks and Young Buck were dropped.

A suspected altercation took place between Banks and a concert promoter over performance fees in the early morning hours of January 9, 2010, in a Kitchener, Ontario hotel. Later, banks and three of his associates were charged with unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, and robbery, and released on $50,000 bail.

The feud between himself and The Game, which became public after The Game left G-Unit, was the most well-known feud involving Lloyd Banks. The Game was jealous of the attention Banks gathered after his debut album The Hunger for More, as well as Banks winning a lyricist title, according to analysts.

Lloyd Banks was managed by Sha Money XL and Teamwork Music at the time of the album's release.

The Big Withdrawal was supposed to be Lloyd Banks' second album. After Banks had a ménage à trois meeting with two women and left the CD album behind, the album was leaked to the internet. The leaked version of the album featured 23 songs.

Lloyd Banks spoke to the issue during an interview: 'He said's the problem was discussed in detail.

Rotten Apple's debut album was not considered a commercial success because it had a much larger number of copies in its first week. "Hands Up," "The Cake," and "Help" are three singles from Rotten Apple.

In 2009, Interscope Records was discontinued from Interscope Records. He is still signed to G-Unit Records, which will debuts his new album. On his 27th birthday, the bank released a mixtape that disappointed Rick Ross, which also included the song "Officer Down" which dissed Rick Ross. In 2009, banks also introduced the V5 – a mixtape.

Interscope Records, a year ago, reached out to re-sign Lloyd Banks. Banks did not go for it, and instead released his third album on G-Unit Records.

In late January 2010, Banks would debut "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley," a new song starring Juelz Santana from his forthcoming third studio album. On the Billboard Hot 100, "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley" charted at #49. Banks' second single, "Any Girl," starring R&B singer Lloyd, was released in early June. He dropped his third single Start It Up, starring Swizz Beatz, Kanye West, Ryan Leslie, and Fabolous on November 2, 2010. Lloyd's fourth single off the album, "I Don't Deserve You," starring R&B singer Jeremih.

The bank has revealed via Twitter that the name for his third album has tentatively titled 'The Hunger for More' and will strive to bring him right back to his best work.' However, the G-Unit brand later stated that the name is not set in concrete and may also be altered. In an interview with MTV News, the album's name was revealed by 50 cents as The Hunger for More 2. Interscope is trying to get him back after the success of "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley," but the Lloyd Banks revealed that he had signed a long-term contract with EMI.

Lloyd Banks announced on Friday, August 13, 2010 on MTV News that EMI Label Services has signed a deal with 50 Cent's label, G-Unit Records, in which EMI will distribute and promote releases on the G-Unit roster in North America, including Lloyd Banks' third album H.F.M. 2 (Hunger for More 2). Lloyd banks left G-Unit Records in June 2018 in an Instagram post by 50 cents at a time when 50 would encourage fans to try Banks' latest mixtape, but it appears that their friendship is no longer amicable. In an interview with Big Boy, 50 cents discussed the various members of G-Unit and said, "Banks, he just... he just... And, I don't even know he couldn't even tell you like at any time when you ask him where the issue is. I put Marquise where I put them, as if they have some internal stuff going on with them that causes them some sort of resentment toward me, and I don't even care about what's going on." However, Trav, a former employee of G-Unit, went on Instagram live and discussed the topic. "Banks father died bro and banks were sad, but no one was worried because he didn't come from no family" so he couldn't be responsible for his condolences. Lloyd banks remained relatively quiet in the aftermath of their separation from G-Unit and June 2021, other than the introduction of a clothing line and touring destinations, like Australia and Lloyd banks, who hadn't announced any new ventures other than some freestyles. "Let's be real," Obama would post on twitter, and fans of Lloyd banks would be left wondering if Lloyd banks had been out of money. Fans would be surprised to learn that he would post a tweet hinting at new music in April 2021, which lasted until May 25, when poet Rashan Brown's brief spoken-word monologue was published on Instagram, and a tracklist and cover art were revealed on May 25. The album was released on June 4, 2021, as his 4th album and first album in 11 years, The Course of the Inevitable, which sold 12,000 copies in its first week. The album received largely favorable feedback, and Lloyd banks seemed content with the reception, particularly as he talked about more forthcoming music at a concert he held in Sony Hall.
