Ljubomir Kereke (born 16 January 1960) is a Croatian theatre, television, and film actor.
Life and work
Kereke began performing in 1980 in Varadin, and between 1982 and 1996, he appeared in the Croatian National Theatre. He moved from Zagreb's Kerempuh theatre in 1996 and then migrated to the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, where he has been based there since 2004. He returned to Varadin's National Theatre in 2014.
Kereke also appeared in several Croatian television series and feature films, and is best known in the region for his role as major Aleksa in the 1996 black comedy film How the War Started on My Island. In the 2007 American action-thriller The Hunting Party, he appeared alongside Richard Gere.
Personal life
His wife's name is Jasenka, and she works in Varadin National Theatre. Ema and Jan, the actress's niece, and their son Jan, the son.
