Music career
Plapinger is a London company based in New York. She attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she met MS MR partner Max Hershenow. Plappinger had performed saxophone in a middle-school band and learned to play drums in college. She formed Neon Gold with Derek Davies in her sophomore year. Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, and Marina and the Diamonds were among the brand's specialists in limited-run, seven-inch singles, and the label helped launch their careers.
