Liv Strömquist (born February 3, 1978) is a Swedish comics artist and radio moderator.
Life and career
Strömquist was born in Lunda and grew up in Ravlunda, Sweden's sterlen region. She now lives in Malmö. As a five-year old child, she created her own comics but didn't stop drawing comics until she turned 23 years old. She began to be interested in comic fanzines. She released her first fanzine in Rikedomen.
She began as a comic artist and released her first album Hundra procent fett ("One hundred percent fat") in 2005. She appears in various magazines and newspapers, including Dagens Nyheter, Dagens Arbete, Bang, Aftonbladet, and Ordfront Magasin. She designed the front cover for The Knife's 2013 album Shaking the Habitual. She also created a comedic strip for the band's website that depicted income disparities in a satirical way.
Several of her books have been translated into French. Kunskapens frukt over the taboo menstruation and the vulva in society has been also translated into Dutch, Danish, German, Finnish, English, Russian, Bulgarian, Slovene, and Ukrainian.
She went to the University of On top of that, she concentrated on political science. Her comics are mainly about socioeconomic issues from a feminist and left-wing viewpoint. They are a satirical essay about power and injustice.
She has been with Sveriges Radio P3 since 2005. She appeared on TV shows Tankesmedjan and Pang Prego. En varg söker sin pod for the newspaper Expressen, coauthored by author Caroline Ringskog Ferrada-Noli. Liv och Horace i Europa, a SVT program that was broadcast in spring 2016, she travelled through Europe with Horace Engdahl and explored various authors' lives.
