Linda Sue Park (born March 25, 1960) is a Korean-American author who wrote Seesaw Girl in 1999, her first book.

She has written six children's books and five picture books.

Park's book A Single Shard gained a following in 2002 when she received the prestigious Newbery Award.

Storm Warning, her ninth book in the 39 Clues series, was published on May 25, 2010.

Personal life

Linda Sue Park was born in Urbana, Illinois, on March 25, 1960, and she was raised outside of Chicago. Linda Sue Park's parents immigrated to the United States in the 1950s for their education. Since the age of four, Park has been writing poetry and stories. When Park was nine years old for Trailblazer magazine, she published her first poem. She continued to publish poems in magazines for children and young people through elementary and high school. Seesaw Girl was her first book, published in 1999.

Park earned a degree in English from Stanford University and competed on the gymnastics team. She has also obtained advanced degrees in literature from Trinity College in Ireland and the University of London.

Park worked at several companies, including public relations for a major oil company, food writing for British magazines and newspapers, and teaching English as a second language to college students before deciding to write her first book.

Park lives with her family in Rochester, New York.
