Lin Yanjun Life

Lin Yanjun (born August 24, 1995), also known as Evan Lin, is a Taiwanese singer based in mainland China.

He debuted as a member of Nine Percent on April 6, 2018 on the Chinese idol reality survival show Idol Producer.

Early life

Lin was born in Haikou, Hainan, on August 24, 1995, and because of his parents' occupations, he moved between Taiwan, Jiangxi, and Guangdong. He passed the Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan entrance examination and joined Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. His father is from Taiwan, and his mother is from Jiangxi. To complete his military service, he halted his education and returned to Taiwan after his freshman year. He can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, Minnan, Korean, and English. He has a younger sister.

He was invited by JYP Entertainment to become a trainee but he declined because he wanted to focus on his studies and military careers at the age of 18, but he refused. In 2016, he signed a contract with a Taiwanese brokerage firm, but because he didn't get the training promised when signing the deal, he and the other participants held a press conference. After that, he passed the Shanghai Banana Entertainment international trainee audition, signed a Banana Entertainment deal, and officially became a Banana Entertainment trainee.
