Lil Skies Career

Career

To pay for studio time and music videos, Skies claims he used to have to sell marijuana and work "little jobs." He also worked at a McDonald's and a Japanese restaurant in his hometown. In the meantime, he'll spend the summer at a relative's house; this was the first time he worked in collaboration with his dad on his first project, "Birth of Skies Vol.," which was announced on August 14. "1" is the number one. Foose and his father would record an album the next year, called Father-Son Talk, in which they would address the recovery process. Foose graduated from Waynesboro Senior High School in 2016 and attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania briefly before deciding on his rap interests. Lil Wayne, Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, The Offspring, Punchline, MxPx, Audiovent, and 50 Cent are among his musical influences.

Foose opened at Shippensburg University in October 2016 and later published his first mixtape, Alone, in January 2017. He released two songs, "Red Roses" starring Landon Cube and "Off the Goop" featuring Sprite Lee in July 2017. Later this year, he would debut "Rude" and "Signs of Jealousy."

Foose's catalogue of singles attracted the attention of Atlantic Records, who partnered with his own brand All We Got. On January 10, 2018, he unveiled Life of a Dark Rose, his first major label mixtape. The mixtape debuted at #23 on the Billboard 200 chart and then went on to a top spot at #10. "Nowadays" and "Red Roses" (both starring Landon Cube) debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 list at #85 and #99 respectively, and have since peaked at #55 and #69 respectively, with both featuring Landon Cube. He toured nationally with Lil Uzi Vert in 2017 and began his "Life of a Dark Rose" tour in 2018, but had to cancel due to pneumonia. The music video for "Lust" debuted on May 4, 2018, peaking at number 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and being designated platinum by the RIAA. On May 31, he released "I Know You," starring Yung Pinch, which peaked at 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is now RIAA-certified gold.

Lil Skies, named after his mother, released his album Shelby on March 1, 2019, while simultaneously debuting the lead single "I" in a music video. He made a short film about the album on his YouTube channel by interviewing her and surprise her during it by advising her that he would name it after she had been born. Lil Skies released a video for "Breathe," a song from his album, Shelby, on May 21, 2019. Lil Skies formed "Burning Memories" on July 14, 2019.

Skies released the song "Havin My Way" on March 4, 2020, which stars Lil Durk and serves as the lead single from his second studio album, Unbothered (2021). "Riot," the second single, which was released on May 14, 2020, was followed by the second one. On Sight, the third single, was released on November 6, 2020. He performed "Red & Yellow" from the Road to Fast 9 mixtape on July 10, 2020. Foose announced Unbothered and its complete information on December 16, 2020, as well as the single "Ok" in a single. The album was released on January 22, 2021.

Lil Skies appeared on Madden NFL 19's soundtrack with his song "Welcome to the Rodeo" and Madden NFL 20 with the song "Magic."
