Leonid Afremov (18 July 1955 – 19 August 2019), a Russian-Israeli modern impressionist artist who worked with palette knives and oils, was a member of the Russian-Israeli modern impressionist group Leonid Afremov. * Over the past 25 years, he has developed his own personal style and technique that distinguishes him from other artists. * He mainly painted city scenes, vintage cars, seascapes, cats performing jazz and flowers. Afremov was born in Vitebsk, the same town where Marc Chagall began his artistic career. * He began painting in the Soviet Union until 1990. * He and his family immigrated to Israel this year due to persistent mistreatment due to his Jewish roots and radiation from the Chernobyl disaster. * He settled in Tel Aviv and opened an art gallery in Ashdod. * He moved to the United States in 2002 and began selling his paintings on eBay in 2004. * Internet exposure resulted in a lot of success, and he received immediate feedback from clients. * After eight years in the United States, he moved to Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where he spent nine years.
