Pearce later told his Only Fools and Horses co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst that he regretted not having the opportunity to kill Hitler.

Pearce served for the Entertainments National Service Association during World War II (ENSA). In the first West End production of My Fair Lady, he understudied for Stanley Holloway as Alfred P. Pearce appeared in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses series from 1981 to 1983, the position with which he is most closely associated. Dixon of Dock Green (1965), Dr. Finlay's Casebook (1967), Sykes (1972) and Coronation Street were among his many publications, as well as The Wednesday Play ("Cathy Come Home" 1966). CHRISTOPHER STEVENS: Dare I say it?This sitcom is even funnier without Two Doors Doon

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 10, 2022
CHRISTOPHER STEVENS: Doon Mackichan's departure from Two Doors Down (BBC2) after nine years may have brought the series's to an end. Cathy's lairy, alcoholic, selfish monster of a suburban housewife, served like petrol on the script, sometimes fuelling chuckles, occasionally setting everything ablaze. However, the beauty of this sitcom is that it takes the smallest variation on a theme and makes something unique out of it.
