Lee Yeon-hee (born January 9, 1988) is a South Korean actress.

She is best known for her appearances in East of Eden (2008), Phantom (2012), Miss Korea (2013), The Package (2017); and in the film A Millionaire's First Love (2006), M (2007), and The Lost Island (2015).

Early life

Lee was born in South Korea on January 9, 1988. Lee won the category of "Best Feature" in the SM Entertainment Best Youth contest in 2002 and signed a deal with SM. She performed in a monologue, sang to Dana "Until the End of the Universe," and also did freestyle modeling poses for the competition. She began intensive training on acting, singing, and dancing right away after joining the company.

Career

Lee started her career by appearing in music videos for SM artists, including Boy Band TVXQ, Moon Hee-jun, Kangta, Shinhwa, and Fly to the Sky, overtaking SM artists Kim Bomi (of M.I.L.K.) soon after joining SM. Lee Jiyeon (commonly known as CSJH The Grace's Lina) as "the SM music video girl."

Although Lee had been modeling in magazines, commercial ads, and appearing in music videos, she did not make her debut until late 2004. She appeared in the latter episodes of the daily drama My Lovely Family in November 2004 as the younger version of the main character in the hit historical drama Emperor of the Sea. Lee was in MBC's mini-series One Fine Day (2006) for her first big role on television.

In 2007, Lee appeared in a romantic melodrama A Millionaire's First Love with Hyun Bin. She made her singing debut for the film by singing "Do-Re-Mi" from The Sound of Music and Insa for the film's original soundtrack. Lee's innocent appearance in the film earned her the title of "Nation's First Love" in Korea. Lee starred in the short film, U-Turn, with moderately successful film M alongside Kang Dong-won.

She appeared in the 47th MBC Anniversary Project East of Eden in 2008. Despite the drama's success, her appearance in the series received a slew of scathing remarks regarding her vocalization, unexpressive facial expressions, and unnatural emotional expression as a result of her character's portrayal. Lee returned to film, starring Hello, Schoolgirl opposite Yoo Ji-tae. Kang Pool's story is based on the manhwa Soonjeong Manwha.

In Kang Je-gyu's big budget historical film My Way, Joe Odagiri, and Fan Bing-bing, as well as the S.M. romance comedy Paradise Ranch. Shim Chang-min of boy band TVXQ performs live in entertainment. In 2012, Lee reunited with So Ji-sub, a U-Turn co-star, in the crime drama Phantom. In 2012, Lee and So were appointed ambassadors for cyber crime reduction by the National Police Agency.

Lee made a special appearance in the 2013 film Gu Family Book, where she was lauded for her actor development. She appeared in Marriage Blue, a romantic comedy film that tells the tale of an engaged couple who have jitters and cold feet right a week before their wedding reception. Lee starred in positive reviews following her debut with television show Miss Korea in the year, with many considering her appearance as her best performance to date.

In the historical comedy Detective K: The Unconventional and Seductive Japanese Geisha Hisako, Lee pushed herself to the edge in her role as the enigmatic and seductive figure of the Lost Island in 2015. Splendid Politics, MBC's 54th anniversary drama, was she then starred.

Lee appeared in SBS' fantasy romance drama Reunited Worlds with Yeo Jin-goo in 2017. She appeared in JYP Entertainment's travel romance drama The Package opposite Jung Yong-hwa, and was praised for her work as a tour guide.

Lee appeared in The Game: Towards Zero in 2020, reuniting with Ok Taec-yeon with whom she appeared in the 2013 film Marriage Blue. However, viewers chastised her for her poor acting abilities.

After her deal with SM came to an end, Lee signed a VAST Entertainment deal in 2020.
