Lee Thompson Young (February 1, 1984 – August 19, 2013) was an American actor.

He is best known for his adolescent appearance on the Disney Channel television series The Famous Jett Jackson (1998–2001) and as Chris Comer in the film Friday Night Lights (2004).

Barry Frost, a Boston police detective on the TNT police drama series Rizzoli & Isles, was his last acting role (2010–14).

Early life

Young was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and the son of Velma Elaine (née Love) and Tommy Scott Young. He was in the second grade when his parents' marriage ended, and he went to live with his mother. In a play called A Night of Stars and Dreams by Dwight Woods and the Phillis Wheatley Repertory Theater of Greenville, South Carolina, at age ten, he played Martin Luther King Jr. Young discovered that he wanted to be an actor at the time.

Personal life

Young received a degree from the University of Southern California, where he concentrated in filmic arts and was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Young enjoyed writing and directing Mano, the 2007 short film.

Career

Young moved to New York City in June 1996, but he didn't audition for the role of Jett Jackson in The Famous Jett Jackson until next year. He filmed the pilot and discovered out in June 1998 that the Disney Channel had picked up the show; it would go on to become a Disney Channel Original Movie in June 2001. As Sam Sterling, Young appeared in Johnny Tsunami (1999), another Disney Channel Original Film. Despite the fact that the film was a hit, Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board (2007).

Young, who had been killed in The Famous Jett Jackson's demise, appeared in The Guardian, a CBS television show. With one of the medical interns, the protagonist is involved in a sex story.

In the ABC television drama FlashForward, Young played Al Gough, an FBI agent. In episode 7, he was taken off the show after his character committed suicide to prevent the death of an innocent civilian. His last acting role was playing Barry Frost, Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles, and he appeared on Fox's The Good Guys as the brother and business associate of an arms dealer.
