Early life and education
Lee Su-ji was born in Busan, South Korea, on March 20, 1998. She grew up in Daegu, South Korea. She attended Hanlim Multi Art School's Broadcasting & Entertainment Department in Seoul and graduated on February 10, 2017. She joined Music K Entertainment in 2013 and spent two years in the company.
Career
Lee appeared in the music video of labelmate Hong Jin-Young's "Cheer Up" in 2014. She debuted under the stage name "Halla" on April 12, 2015, as a member of Music K Entertainment's newest girl group The Ark. "The Light" was the band's first single before going on hiatus. The organisation had disbanded a month before in March 2016. Lee attended the auditions for The Idolmaster KR, a Korean drama loosely based on the Japanese raising simulation and rhythm video game series The Idolmaster, where she appeared as the principal lead and her twin sister on April 26, 2016. On August 25, she debuted as a member of the Real Girls Project, which was conceived for the drama. Lee joined The Unit: The Idol Rebooting Project on November 4, 2017. She secured a final spot on Top 9 and joined UNI.T, a non-profit organization.
