Lauren Conrad Life

Lauren Katherine Tell (born Conrad, 1986) is an American television presenter, fashion designer, and author.

An 18-year-old Conrad's fame came to prominence in September 2004 after being cast in the reality television series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which chronicled her and her family's lives in their hometown of Laguna Beach, California. Conrad then migrated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in fashion, and she launched The Hills, her own spin-off film in May 2006.

It followed Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, and Whitney Port's personal and professional lives.

Conrad, Montag's boyfriend Spencer Pratt became the central focus of the story as the series progressed, and was carried out into every subsequent season in which Conrad appeared.

She attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising as well as worked for Teen Vogue and Kelly Cutrone's PR firm People's Revolution during its development.

Conrad left The Hills after five seasons, and Kristin Cavallari, a former Laguna Beach co-star, was inserted in May 2009.

In July 2010, she filmed an alternate ending for the series finale, which was broadcast in August 2013. Conrad is the founder of LC Lauren Conrad and Paper Crown, as well as the co-founder of the fair trade online store The Little Market.

She has written nine books, including L.A. Candy and The Fame Game trilogies.

Personal life

Conrad began dating actor Kyle Howard in 2008. Howard was worried that being on reality television would jeopardize his acting career, and, as a result, their relationship on The Hills was not chronicled. Conrad and Howard married in 2011 after three years together.

William Tell, a former executive of Conrad and former Something Corporate guitarist William Tell in February 2012, announced their engagement in Westwood, Los Angeles, the following month. Conrad and Tell married in California on September 13, 2014. William "Liam" James (born on July 5, 2017) and Charles "Charlie" Wolf (born on October 8, 2019) are both married.

Lauren Conrad Career

Life and career

Conrad was born in Laguna Beach, California, to Jim, an architect, and Kathy (née Lawrence). She has two younger siblings, Breanna, a television actress, and Brandon. Conrad first expressed an interest in a career in the fashion industry when she was in the sixth grade. Conrad "wasn't a brilliant student [and] wasn't interested] during her childhood, her father explained later that "we found out along the way that she was an artist and her true love was fashion."

Conrad, as well as eventual castmates Lo Bosworth, Kristin Cavallari, and Stephen Colletti, attended Laguna Beach High School. They appeared in Laguna Beach, the Real Orange County, an MTV reality television series that chronicled their lives during high school. She was often referred to by the acronym "L.C." during its manufacture. "Once she has voiced her distaste for the name, she has since voiced her distaste for it." The series was a hit on television; she characterized the lifestyle it imposed on her as "definitely a different way to grow up." The first season of Conrad, Cavallari, and Colletti, as well as the subsequent rivalry between the two families, was notably focusing on the love triangle. Conrad appeared on an episode of MTV Cribs at the end of his first season. Conrad debuted from high school in 2004 and spent a year at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where she met Heidi Montag. Conrad left the series after the second season, after which she returned home and enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, though she did not graduate with a degree. Conrad made a guest appearance on the program during the third season in 2006. Breanna, her sister, was a primary cast member.

The Hills, a spin-off film, was created to chronicle Conrad, her housemate Montag, and their colleagues, Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port after moving to Los Angeles in 2005. Conrad and Port held internships with Teen Vogue, under the direction of West Coast Vogue editor Lisa Love; "regardless of what the cameras wanted." Laurens friendship with Heidi had deteriorated by the second season of Montag's dating Spencer Pratt. Montag and Conrad became roommates after Montag moved in with Pratt, Patridge, and Lo Bosworth.

Conrad ended her relationship with Montag after she suspected Montag and Pratt of a sex tape involving herself and her estranged boyfriend Jason Wahler during the third season; the ensuing feud continued into the third season in which Conrad appeared. During the film, Conrad briefly dated fellow castmate Brody Jenner, who she said was the object of "editing to drag it out." Conrad was unveiled in January 2007 as the inaugural spokeswoman of Avon Products' "mark." The line, which was marketed to young people, was launched in June 2010 by actress Ashley Greene. Conrad appeared in the comedy film Epic Movie later in 2007. Conrad and Port began interning with Kelly Cutrone's PR company People's Revolution in 2008.

Conrad wanted to leave the series to pursue other career paths after the fourth season of The Hills in December 2008. However, she did film ten episodes for the upcoming season, closing her storylines, per the producers' request. After much deliberation during the fifth season's mid-season finale, Conrad made her last appearance on the series in May 2009, attending Montag and Pratt's wedding. However, she wrote in the July 2009 issue of Cosmopolitan that producers pressured her into a compromise with Montag throughout the season, adding that she was dissatisfied with that they would not allow otherwise. Conrad was replaced by former Laguna Beach castmate Kristin Cavallari until the series's conclusion in July 2010.

Conrad intended to appear in an MTV series that would have concentrated on her career aspirations in September 2010, but the network decided not to pursue the series because Conrad chose not to film her private life. Conrad revealed in August that she had shot an alternate ending for The Hills with Jenner. "RetroMTV Brunch," MTV's 30-month morning marathon, was shown on television in August 2013. After seeing Cavallari's limousine off to Europe, Jenner appears back to his apartment. Conrad is spotted sitting on his couch and promises him that "it's impossible to say goodbye" to a "mega] acquaintance [his]," before the camera focuses on a smiling Conrad. She also expressed interest in being in a potential reunion film last month. Conrad and her companion Hannah Skvarla opened The Little Market, a web store that sells handmade works from women of various cultural backgrounds in October. Montag remarked that she and Conrad have "talked a few times" since the series's conclusion in December 2013, elaborating that "it's unfortunate that things happen the way they did, but we're both older and more mature."

She unveiled her first fashion line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, in March 2008. Conrad halted the line the following year after disappointing sales figures, and she sought to better familiarize herself with the industry.

Conrad launched LC Lauren Conrad, her second fashion line, in fall 2009, which was later extended to include a bedding collection. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Conrad's line in May 2012 hit annual sales of $60 million, though Conrad only gets a 4% backend of the sales. In February, May, and October 2015, respectively, Conrad released limited-run Cinderella, Minnie Mouse, and Bambi-inspired collections for LC Lauren Conrad. During New York Fashion Week in September, she also launched an upscale runway collection for the line. Conrad's inexpensive swim collection at Kohl's helped her brand extend in 2017.

Kristin Ess and her makeup artist Amy Nadine announced plans to extend the brand to include a line of cosmetics in April 2011. Conrad's third fashion line, Paper Crown, was launched in August, appealing to a more sophisticated target market; she has since opened a Nordstrom account for the brand. She collaborated with BlueAvocado in July to introduce XO(eco), an environmentally friendly range of bags. Conrad Beauty launched Lauren Conrad Beauty in August 2020 as a line of affordable and eco friendly make-up, and by September 2020, the range of affordable make-up kits and ten skincare items would have widened to ten make-up kits and ten skincare items will be available.

L.A. Candy, Conrad's first book, was published in June 2009 and became a bestseller on The New York Times. Jane Roberts, a woman who flocked to Los Angeles, was influenced by her life. In 2010, Sweet Little Lies and Sugar and Spice were followed by sequels. Lauren Conrad Style, Conrad's fashion book, was also published in 2010. In April 2012, Conrad introduced The Fame Game, a spin-off to the L.A. Candy story. Conrad published Starstruck and the style guide Lauren Conrad Beauty in October 2012. Infamous, the trilogy's last book, was published in June 2013.

In the "We Love You, Conrad" episode of Family Guy, Conrad's first broadcast on May 3, 2009, Conrad made a cameo appearance in an episode of Greek in 2008 and appeared in a live broadcast on May 3, 2009. She appeared on syndicated game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List later this year, and she also served as a guest judge on America's Next Top Model's thirteenth cycle.

Conrad also released a podcast entitled Asking for a Friend in 2019.
