Early life
Anthony debuted in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents are of Puerto Rican origins and were born and raised in New York City. Anthony (who identifies herself as an Afro-Puerto Rican) has a younger brother and two younger sisters. She was involved in a variety of sports as a youth, but music was her primary concern. She attended Howard University, where she studied communications but did not graduate.
Personal life
On Christmas Day 2004, La La La La Lala became engaged to basketball player Carmelo Anthony. Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, their son, was born on March 7, 2007. Michael Eric Dyson married them on July 10, 2010 at Cipriani's in New York, with 320 people attending. The event was captured by VH1 and broadcast as part of a reality show on the couple titled La La's Full Court Marriage. The couple's lives are chronicled on their continuation series La La's Full Court Life. La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La La Lala filed for divorce in June 2021.
Career
Anthony began working in radio at WHTA-FM, HOT 97.5 in Georgia at the age of 15. She hosted Future Flavas alongside rapper/actor Ludacris after a short internship at that station and while still in high school.
Anthony's 19 appearances at the Los Angeles' 92.3 The Beat co-hosting The B-Syde was the B-Syde. In 2001, she left the station and moved to MTV, where she hosted Direct Effect and Total Request Live.
Anthony debuted on MTV in 2003. Tyson, Mike Tyson's documentary, received the Regard Knockout Award in France and was included in the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. In addition, Anthony produced a feature film with director/producer Brett Ratner.
