When accepting the Comedic Genius Award, Jack Black needs 'A Blast Of Oxygen.'

www.mtv.com, June 5, 2022
You may well know him best from School of Rock or the Jumanji films, Nacho Libre or Orange County, or even as the voice of a martial artist who is also a panda. You may believe him incomplete if you see him without a guitar in his hands — because he's also a rock god. One thing is certain, Jack Black's role is a comedic genius. At tonight's MTV Movie & TV Awards, where Black was recognized, underscored, and yelled, where it was acknowledged. Jack Black stepped onstage wearing a massive (kung-fu) panda mask and quickly barrel-rolled his way to the microphone, soaking up every last bit of audience glory. The entire moment was soundtracked by some entirely incorrect walk-out music: Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock." By the time he actually started his speech, he needed a bit of fresh air. "I need a little blast of oxygen!" He said he was amazed that he was not the first one to mention it.
