Krunal Himanshu Pandya (born 24 March 1991) is an Indian international cricketer.

He is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls a slow left-arm orthodoxy.

He plays for Baroda in domestic cricket and for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

In November 2018, he made his international debut for the Indian cricket team.

Personal life

Hardik Pandya's older brother is the elder brother of the Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya. He married Pankhuri Sharma on December 27, 2017, the first day he married her. Kavir Krunal Pandya, the couple's son, was born on July 24, 2022.

Deepak Hooda, an Indian cricketer, wrote a scathing letter in January 2021 accusing Krunal Pandya of using "abusive words" and "threats to end his career," and Hooda dropped out of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. He tested positive for COVID-19 on July 27, 2021.

Pandya's Twitter account was hacked in January 2022, and suspicious tweets from an accused bitcoin scammer were posted. All of the hacker's tweets were deleted early in the day, and Pandya released a tweet apologizing.

Domestic career

Pandya made his first-class debut on October 6, 2016, while playing for Baroda during the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy tournament. He became Baroda's top run scorer and leading wicket taker in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy within the next few months. In eight games, he scored 366 runs, for an average of 45.75 and a strike rate of 81.33. This was the highest score in three quarters in three centuries, with a high score of 78. He took 11 wickets in eight matches, an average of 25.09 and a strike rate of 31.10. He had his best bowling results in eight matches, scoring 4/20. He appeared in an India A tri-series win over South Africa A and Afghanistan A in 2017.

In the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he was the top run-scoer for Baroda, scoring 366 runs in eight matches. In October 2018, he was selected in India A's squad for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. Pandya was appointed captain of Baroda for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-2020.

In the 2022 Royal London One-Day Cup, he was chosen to compete for Warwickshire County Cricket Club.

International career

Pandya was selected in India's Twenty20 International (T20I) squads for their tours against the West Indies and Australia in October 2018. On November 4, 2018, he made his T20I debut for India against the West Indies, taking one wicket and scoring an unbeaten 21 runs off nine wickets. He was selected for the India Twenty2020 International team against Australia and played all three matches. He conceded 55 runs in four overs in his first match, but earned Player of the Match in his second T20I and received the Player of the Match award in his third match for his bowling effort of 4/36 in 4 overs.

In March 2021, he was selected in India's One Day International (ODI) squad for their series against England. On March 23, 2021, he made his ODI debut for India against England, scoring 58 not out. His fifty was the fastest in an ODI match on debut, coming from 26 balls.
