Koren Robinson Career

Professional career

In a trade that brought Joey Galloway to the Dallas Cowboys, the Seattle Seahawks selected Robinson with the 9th overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.

Robinson was signed by the Minnesota Vikings after being drafted. He was given a limited role in his time with the Vikings and was named as the team's kick returner. Robinson made the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career, although it was the first time he had returned kicks.

Robinson was signed by the Green Bay Packers in September 2006, much thanks to then-quarterback Brett Favre and GM Ted Thompson's (former Seahawks executive who drafted Robinson in 2001 in Seattle). On October 16, 2006, Robinson was suspended without compensation for a minimum of one year for breaching the NFL's substance abuse policy. Robinson worked out with Favre's trainer to maintain his football form. Robinson was reinstated by Commissioner Goodell in October 2007, and he finished the 2007 season with 21 catches for 241 yards and one touchdown. On December 30, 2007, his touchdown was against the Detroit Lions.

In the 2008 NFL Draft, the Packers selected two younger receivers, creating a logjam at the position. Robinson was deemed expendable by the Packers and he was released on May 9, 2008. "I believe a lot of Koren," Packers General Manager Ted Thompson said. I'm really proud to see him turn things around. He's a natural performer. He aided us in the locker room. He made the young guys learn how to be pros."

Due to the sheer number of injuries at the receiver position, the Seahawks signed Robinson on September 16, 2008. Robinson set a franchise record for the longest catch in team history in his second stint with the Seahawks. On the Seahawks' first play from scrimmage against the Philadelphia Eagles on November 2, 2008, back-up quarterback Seneca Wallace threw a pass to Robinson that resulted in 90 yards and a touchdown. Pro Football Weekly announced on January 26, 2009 that Robinson was not expected to return to the Seahawks this season due to a persistent knee injury.

Robinson was signed by the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League on September 3, 2009.

Robinson was traded to the Sentinels for future considerations.
