Kim Zimmer Career

Career

Zimmer's career began with stage work; an early television role was her portrayal of Bonnie Harmon on One Life to Live in 1978. Nola Dancy Aldrich, a 1979 college graduate, was chosen to replace Kathleen Turner on The Doctors. In 1981's Body Heat, she appeared alongside Turner in a scene that referenced similarities in their appearance. She was the show's leading lady for a large portion of her tenure, but her real life husband, A.C. Weary, was escorted off the stage in July 1982 on a maternity leave, and she appeared in Nola's newest conquest. Mona Croft, her ex mother-in-law, will die one last time this year. Echo DiSavoy appeared on One Life to Live from February to November 1983.

Zimmer appeared in the role for which she is most well-known, Reva Shayne's character on television soap opera Guiding Light in 1983. Reva's portrayal was on display at the museum until Zimmer left in 1990. In April 1995, she appeared in Reva before the show's end in September 2009. Although Zimmer's Reva was paired with several leading guys, her friendship with Robert Newman (Josh) earned them the nickname "supercouple."

Zimmer left Guiding Light in 1990 and spent five years on the West Coast, where she appeared on Jodie DeWitt Walker on Santa Barbara from 1992 to 1993. Zimmer appeared in a Seinfeld ("The Diplomat's Club") in 1995 as Mr. Pitt's counsel, who suspect Elaine and Jerry were attempting to murder Mr. Pitt.

In 2010, Zimmer returned to the role of Echo on One Life to Live. Jerry verDorn (Clint Buchanan), Robin Strasser (Dorian Cramer) and Erika Slezak were among the several characters in a tale alongside former Guiding Light co-star Jerry verDorn (Dorian Cramer) and Erika Slezak (Viki Lord).

Zimmer has also appeared in numerous episodic television shows, including Designing Women, MacGyver, Models, Inc., and Babylon 5 (episode "And Now For a Word," year 1995). She has appeared in several made-for-television films.

Zimmer has appeared in a number of theater productions, including several at the Barn Theatre in Augusta. In 2011, it was revealed that Zimmer would appear in Love, Loss, and What I Wore, an Off-Broadway international hit. She appeared as Mrs. Hayes in Connecticut Repertory Theatre's production of Odysseus D.O.A., which ran from March 4, 2012. She appeared in several productions of Madame Morrible, beginning in 2006 at the Barn Theatre in Augusta, Michigan, and then in 2015 at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera opposite former Guiding Light leading man Robert Newman.

I'm Just Sayin' was her debut in 2011. Three deaths, Seven Husbands, and a Clone. My Life as a Daytime Diva.
