Kim Tae-ri (born April 24, 1990) is a South Korean actress.

Early life
Kim Tae-ri was born on April 24, 1990, in Seoul. After graduating from Youngshin Nursing Business High School, Kim studied Journalism and Communication at Kyung Hee University from 2008 to 2012. Kim was inspired to become an actress in her second year of college after joining a college theater club.
Career
Kim spent a year as a member of a theatre troupe in Daehakro after graduating from college. Kim was cast as a standby in Spoonface Steinberg's 2012 production but did not get to perform on stage. She appeared in the plays Pansy and To Ask About Love, as well as being cast in Spoonface Steinberg's rerun in 2013. She made Moon Young, a short film that premiered at the Seoul Independent Film Festival in 2015, in the same year; a theatrical version was released in 2017. Kim joined J-Wide Company in 2014 and appeared in a number of television commercials. She appeared in several short films and attended several auditions for film roles during this period but was turned down repeatedly.
Kim made her debut in The Handmaiden, Park Chan-wook's fourth film, where she was chosen from a field of 1,500 actresses auditioning for the role. She received the award for Best New Actress at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Director's Cut Awards, Buil Film Awards, and Busan Film Critics Awards for her role in the film. Park recalled his first impression of Kim, recalling his first sighting of her in Park's 2003 film Oldboy.
