Ryeowook graduated from Inha University with a major in theater and film studies on February 24, 2012.

Career
Ryeowook was discovered at the CMB Youth ChinChin Festival in 2004 and signed a deal with SM Entertainment shortly after, delighting the judges with his singing abilities. Ryeowook was the last to join Super Junior a few weeks before being introduced in 2006.
On October 6, 2005, Ryeowook made his debut as part of SBS' music show Popular Songs, premiering their first single, "Twins (Knock Out)" on Nov. 6, 2005. SuperJunior05 (Twins) was released a month later on December 5, 2005, and it debuted at number one on the monthly MIAK K-pop charts.
Ryeowook, along with fellow Super Junior members Kyuhyun and Yesung, formed Super Junior K.R.Y., a group that specialises in R&B ballads in late 2006. The trio debuted on KBS' Music Bank on November 5, 2006, with the title "The One I Love" featuring Hyena. In the film Attack on the Pin-Up Boys, a high-school comedy/mystery film in which he plays the eccentric vice president of the student council, Ryeowook made his acting debut in 2007. At the Korean Movie Awards, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and Best Comedic Performance.
He was put into a seven-member Super Junior-M subgroup of the Chinese music industry in April 2008. They debuted in China at the 8th Annual Music Chart Awards, along with the introduction of their first music video, "U" on April 8. The debut of Me, China's first Chinese-language studio album, was followed by the debut of the Me in selected provinces.
Super Junior K.R.Y. appeared on television in November 2012. Super Junior K.R.Y. held a concert tour in Japan. This winter performance is a special one. The pair revealed that they would be releasing their first single six years after debuting. Promise You was announced on November 21, 2012, and the single was released on January 23, 2013. "Love U More" was Ryeowook's first composition to be officially launched in the repackaged Sorry, Sorry Version C. Ryeowook made his debut as a musician in Temptation of Wolves with Park Hyung-sik of ZE:A and Lim Jeong-hee. At the COEX Artium, it went from July to October 2011.
Following the footsteps of bandmates Yesung and Kyuhyun, Ryeowook joined KBS' Immortal Songs 2 in Infinite, where singers perform their own versions of songs from music legends and winners are selected by vote. In the 11 August episode, singers Lee Sang-woo and Lee Sang-eun were first in first place. He appeared on August 16th, his last episode, which was broadcast on August 25th.
On January 28, 2016, Ryeowook made his solo debut.
The Little Prince is Ryeowook's debut solo album. The debut of The Little Prince was not only expected as Ryeowook's first solo album since his debut 11 years ago, but also because it was the first release under Super Junior's own brand, Label SJ, which was launched by SM Entertainment in 2015 during the group's tenth anniversary. The title track, which also includes the album, is a ballad based on French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's book The Little Prince. The Little Prince's is a ballad song and a tale about a man in pain from love and The Little Prince.
He appeared in addition to Ryeowook's solo tours and album debut, and he performed his first solo concert with SMTOWN's "Ever Lasting Star - RyeoWook" in Samseong-dong, Seoul, from 19 February to February 21.
Ryeowook's third solo album A Wild Rose was released on May 3, 2022.
