Education
Kim attended Seoul National University and studied Dentistry but decided against focusing on his acting career instead. Later on, he enrolled in Chung-Ang University, where he majored in acting.
Career
In 2000, he debuted as a member of the Korean duo UN, an acronym that stands for "United N-generation." The pair officially announced their disbandment in September 2005 after six years of fame, but Kim revealed that they would opting for an acting career instead. Kim had claimed that the circumstances of the Korean music industry discouraged him from enjoying music he longed to do.
He had aspired to be a laboratory researcher from the start. Kim didn't know he'd be a comedian and singer. He had already started acting in Korean dramas, such as sitcom Orange and A Man and a Woman, by 2005. Kim Jeong-hoon made his big break when he appeared in the hit MBC drama Princess Hours with Yoon Eun-hye and Ju Ji-hoon. Kim portrayed Yul, a caring and sensitive 19-year-old boy who is second in line to become the crown prince and has returned to Korea to regain two things that were snatched from him after his father's death: the title of crown prince and the crown princess who was not expected to marry him. He had aspired to be a well-known film director in his last aspiration. He left the military service for two years on April 28, 2009. Fans from Japan, Korea, Turkey, and China had gathered to see Kim Jeong-hoon leave the country.
Kim returned to civilian life on February 28, 2011 after two years in service. On his return, he has appeared in a number of dramas and shows. Kim was cast in the Chinese drama God of War, alongside Girls' Generation's Yoona. In a love triangle, Kim played Gao Ze, a love interest of YoonA's character. That was his first historical drama.
