Khatia Buniatishvili (born 21 June 1987) is a French-Georgian concert pianist.

Early life and education

Khatia Buniatishvili, a native of Batumi, Georgia, began learning piano under her mother's age at three years old. When she was six years old and appeared internationally at age 10, she gave her first concert with Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra when she was 6 years old and appeared in Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra. She studied in Tbilisi with Tengiz Amiredjibi and in Vienna with Oleg Maisenberg of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Gvantsa Buniatishvili, her older sister, is also a pianist, and they've performed together on several occasions.

In 2010, Buniatishvili signed Sony Classical as an exclusive artist. Sonneata by Liszt in B minor, Liebestraum No. 2 on her 2011 debut album included Liszt's Sonata in B minor, Liebestraum No. Mephisto Waltz No. 3 - Mephisto Waltz No. 2 No. 1.

Buniatishvili is a regular attender of the Verbier Festival, and she appeared in Liszt's Sonata in B minor at the 2011 festival.

Buniatishvili's second album, Chopin, featured solo piano performances as well as Chopin's Piano Concerto No. The Orchestre de Paris and Paavo Järvi accompany the 2 in F minor, as well as Orchestre de Paris and Paavo Järvi. "This is playing straight from the heart from one of today's most exciting and technically gifted young pianists," the Guardian said.
