Khandi Alexander (born September 4, 1957) is an American dancer, choreographer, and actor.
She began her career as a dancer in the 1980s and served as a choreographer on Whitney Houston's world tour from 1988 to 1992. Alexander appeared in a number of films during the 1990s, including CB4 (1993), What's Love Got to Do with It (1993), Sugar Hill (1994), and There's Something About Mary (1998).

Early life
Khandi Alexander was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the niece of Alverina Yavonna (Masters), an opera and jazz pianist, and Henry Roland Alexander, who owned a building company. She was born in Queens, New York, and attended Queensborough Community College. She appeared on Broadway, Robert Fosse's Dancin's Dancin's Dancin', and Dreamgirls. She was a choreographer on Whitney Houston's world tour from 1988 to 1992, as well as a dancer in Natalie Cole's film "Pink Cadillac" in 1988.
Career
Alexander began her acting career in the 1980s. FTV, 1985 sketch-comedy television show FTV, made her television debut. Alexander has concentrated on film and television, appearing in many films, including CB4, Joshua Tree, What's Love Got to Do with It, Poetic Justice, and Sugar Hill.
Alexander was cast as Catherine Duke on the NBC comedy show NewsRadio in 1995.
