Kenneth G. Mills Life

Kenneth George Mills (January 25, 1923 – October 8, 2004) was a Canadian metaphysical/philosophical speaker and writer.

He gave spontaneous lectures and poetry for over 37 years as an exemplar of the oral tradition.

He rose to fame for his contributions to music, especially as the conductor of the choral ensemble The Star-Scape Singers.

He excelled at writing, painting, and design, and has been characterized by some as a New Age man, a man for all seasons, and a Renaissance man.

Life

Mills was born in 1923 in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. He attended Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick. He began training at the age of 7 in music and made his debuts in Winnipeg in 1952 and New York City in 1961. Despite the fact that he decided not to finish his career as a concert pianist in 1963, he concentrated on teaching piano and adjudicating young musicians for another ten years. He began speaking out spontaneously to those who asked that he do so, eventually giving thousands of hours of metaphysical/philosophical lectures and meetings throughout his lifetime.

Mills began writing The Star-Scape Singers in 1976, extending his musical interests. He and his musicians will perform in Eastern and Western Europe as well as the United States. Mills has also dabbled in musical composition, concering both choral and orchestral works. In addition, he experimented with various types of designing, and in 1993, he introduced a line of haute couture fashions. More than 200 large canvases were sold as a result of his interest in painting. He was praised for teaching and supporting artists in all of these fields, and he continued his mentoring and spontaneous speaking long before his death in October 2004.
