Kenan Stacy Thompson (born May 10, 1978) is an American actor and comedian.
Since 2003, he has been a cast member of the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. Thompson began acting in the early 1990s and rose to fame as an original cast member of Nickelodeon's sketch comedy show All That.
He has worked with All That costar Kel Mitchell during his time as a contributor.
They began appearing in Kenan & Kel (1996-2000), an American sitcom.
Thompson is also known for his roles in Good Burger and the title role in the 2004 film Fat Albert. He has been given a Primetime Emmy Award from three others for his appearance on SNL, and is ranked #88 on VH1's Top 100 Young Stars.
Early life
Thompson was born in Columbus, Ohio, on May 10, 1978. Fletcher and Elizabeth Ann Thompson Thompson Thompson are his parents. He has two brothers, an older brother and a younger sister. When he was 9 months old, his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. At age five, Thompson's mother enrolled him in acting lessons. Toto appeared in a church production of The Wiz, but he had no lines. He continued acting in school plays, including The Gingerbread Duck. He auditioned for The Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, a theater company (YEA). On November 11, 2011, Thompson married model Christina Evangeline. They have two children, born in June 2014 and August 2018.

Career
"Real News for Kids" was one of Thompson's early careers as an entertainment reporter for CNN's "Real News for Kids." He went on to appear in All That's first five seasons, including Principal Pimpell, Miss Piddlin, Pierre Escargot, and Superdude. Kenan Rockmore appeared on Nickelodeon's Kenan & Kel from 1996 to 2000, mainly while still working on All That. D2: The Mighty Ducks, he started filming his first film while attending Tri-Cities High School, a Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School in East Point, Georgia.
Thompson has appeared in many films, including Good Burger, based on the All That sketch of the same name, and Fat Albert, in which he played the title character. He has also appeared in D3: The Mighty Ducks, Love Don't Cost a Thing, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, My Boss' Daughter, and Snakes on a Plane.

Thompson returned to sketch comedy in 2003 when he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live, becoming the show's first cast member after the show's 1975 premiere. Thompson had sent an audition tape to SNL several times, with them claiming he was too young, despite him not being concerned that "it was a few years." Thompson said he feared being on the show was a "disservice" to it, "it was strange for me for a long time." Thompson was a regular player throughout the 2005–2006 season (spanning the 29th and 30th seasons) and was promoted to repertory player at the start of season 31 (the 2005–2006 season).
He refused to appear any more black people on the program in 2013 and demanded that SNL recruit black people instead.
Thompson has been a cast member of SNL for 20 seasons, smashing the record for the longest-serving cast member in the show's history, which was previously held by Darrell Hammond, who appeared on the program for 14 years. Following Seth Meyers' departure, Thompson became the most senior cast member in the second half of the 2013-2014 season.
